What you will do
- Partner with Network Design, Capacity Delivery, and Field organizations to convert network solutions into standardized, scalable bills of materials and design packages that outside vendors can execute across several sites.
- Work alongside Automation and Bus Operations teams to build repeatable, stateless work packages that third-party provisioners and coordinators can complete with minimal oversight.
- Collaborate with site acquisition, edge infrastructure, and colocation providers to enable rapid, scalable deployments and support operations throughout the full lifecycle of the infrastructure.
- Support Googleâs networking objectives by helping select vendors, onboarding them, and overseeing their performance.
- Act as the primary technical escalation contact for quality assurance concerns and service improvement initiatives.
- Measure performance, improve processes, and expand automation across internal and external teams to improve network build quality and reduce repair turnaround times.
What Google is looking for
- A bachelorâs degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least two years of experience in program or project management, including leadership of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Hands-on experience in a data center or point of presence environment.
- Practical knowledge of outside plant and inside plant infrastructure, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, relay systems, and rack, cabinet, or cage construction.
- Background in telecommunications and optical network infrastructure, including transmission systems, Layer 2 and Layer 3 routers, and data services.
- Experience managing or directing field technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecom environment is preferred.
- Experience working across multiple levels and functions and influencing both tactical execution and strategic decisions is preferred.
- Experience managing third parties to achieve objectives is preferred.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed is preferred.
