In this position, you will help operate, monitor, and support the physical conditions of the facilities that house Google’s computing infrastructure. The environment includes systems that manage heating and cooling, water and air flow, power supply, generators, uninterruptible power supply equipment, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems. You will also help inspect, maintain, and repair a range of data center systems, including piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical components.

The program is designed for people who are still developing their professional capability. You will work under direct, day-to-day guidance from managers or more experienced technicians, shadowing them as they inspect systems, carry out maintenance, and complete repairs. As you learn, you will be expected to ask questions about processes, tools, maintenance methods, and operating procedures so you can build the technical knowledge required to grow in the role.

What you will do

• Learn from and work alongside technicians who inspect, maintain, and repair data center systems, including piping and mechanical components.

• Build your understanding of data center operations by asking questions about maintenance, tools, processes, and procedures.
