What you will do

  • Prepare detailed construction documentation, drawings, and technical specifications that meet strict quality expectations.
  • Support projects from the earliest site-selection and concept stages through commissioning and final validation of the system.
  • Contribute to technical problem-solving and planning across cross-functional teams involved in mission-critical infrastructure delivery.
  • Help shape scalable and efficient power infrastructure, including high-voltage substations and grid connection solutions.
  • Participate in work that advances the reliability, safety, and performance of AWS data center power systems.

Experience and skills needed

  • Practical experience with the design or construction administration of electrical distribution systems, from low voltage through to high voltage.
  • Background in industrial or commercial engineering within mission-critical settings such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
  • Ability to interpret, produce, and work from construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
  • Experience with EPMS, SCADA, or BMS control systems, whether in software or hardware form.
  • Project management or project lead experience, including RFQ/RFP activity, engineering team selection, budget development, coordination of multiple consultants, and meeting facilitation.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred background

  • A Professional Engineering license or an Architectural license is advantageous.
  • Understanding of local building codes and regulations is preferred.
  • Experience taking a design from early concept through development and into deployment or production is preferred.
  • Experience researching new design approaches, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities is preferred.
  • Previous work in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience using web-based tools and other software for calculations and data processing is preferred.
