| Qualifications | Bachelor’s |
| Category | IT Jobs |
| Job Type | Full Time |
| Location | London |
This role sits within Amazonâs Robotics Delivery and Packaging Innovation International team and focuses on turning advanced automation concepts into deployment-ready solutions that can be rolled out across Amazonâs fulfillment network. The position is aimed at someone who can lead first-time implementations of robotics and other automation technologies, take full ownership of execution, and then convert the lessons from those initial launches into clear, repeatable processes and documentation that support broader global scaling.
The work is highly cross-functional and business-oriented, combining technical problem solving with project leadership. You would be expected to manage complex deployments from the earliest planning stages through go-live, coordinating schedules, vendors, site teams, and internal stakeholders while keeping delivery on track. The environment is fast-moving and entrepreneurial, with a strong expectation of ownership, adaptability, and the ability to work across multiple technologies and teams.
What you will do
- Lead the full deployment journey for new automation projects, starting with planning and schedule creation and continuing through launch and handover.
- Take charge of on-site implementation during alpha and beta phases, including installation, commissioning, testing, and validation.
- Bring together cross-functional partners, vendors, and site operations teams to make sure each deployment is delivered successfully.
- Convert complex first-time deployment work into scalable operating methods by producing and improving detailed documentation, procedures, and deliverables for future rollouts.
- Support the evaluation and delivery of large-scale automation technologies, including conveyance, sortation, and robotics systems.
- Partner with product, safety, deployment, quality, and vendor teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Spend time on site during deployment execution, leading implementation activities through go-live and resolving issues as they arise.
- Work daily with teams across different functions and time zones, holding regular meetings with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Develop strong working relationships with subject matter experts and use technical analysis to better understand the systems being deployed.
- Troubleshoot difficult technical problems in the field and help drive practical solutions in a live operational environment.
Team and environment
You would join a diverse, multi-skilled team that has a strong history of solving difficult technical challenges and delivering Amazonâs robotics technologies across fulfillment, transportation, and delivery operations worldwide. The team combines engineering expertise, curiosity, innovation, leadership, problem solving, and clear communication to produce results for customers.
The role offers broad exposure to different technologies and stakeholders, which can help accelerate your development. No two days are expected to be the same, and the work is described as collaborative, focused, and fast paced.
Location and travel
The position may be based in Berlin, Munich, Düsseldorf, Barcelona, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, or Milan. It involves around half of working time spent traveling across Europe during peak deployment seasons, with occasional travel outside Europe as needed.
What Amazon is looking for
- A bachelorâs degree in systems engineering, computer science, or a related subject, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience leading automation deployment projects from planning through commissioning.
- Practical, hands-on experience with robotics, warehouse automation, or material handling systems.
- Experience producing technical documentation for field or site teams.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholders and coordinate across functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% during European deployment periods.
- Experience solving complex technical issues directly on site.
Helpful experience
- Background in robotics deployments within warehouse or fulfillment environments.
- Experience working with vendors and external contractors during technology rollouts.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches.
- Professional project management credentials such as PMP, Scrum, or Agile.
- Experience with Amazon Robotics or similar warehouse automation systems.
- A masterâs degree in engineering or another STEM field.
- Experience training field teams on new technology introductions.
