What you would do
- Build and maintain a strong culture focused on safety and employee wellbeing.
- Review quality and productivity performance, then introduce changes that keep standards consistently high.
- Lead projects that simplify workflows, improve efficiency, and raise the quality of service delivered to customers in your area.
- Measure shift performance against business goals and implement actions that improve operational results.
- Partner with other managers and leadership peers to align and standardise shift-level working practices.
- Take responsibility for a varied day that combines people management, operational delivery, process improvement, and contingency planning.
- Support and mentor new managers, acting as a role model for effective leadership.
- Work a night-shift schedule at one of Amazonâs fulfilment sites.
Team and environment
You would be part of Customer Fulfilment, the part of Amazon that handles the flow of products from fulfilment centres to customers. Amazon explains that this team has grown from its early roots into a global operation processing more than 1.5 million orders each day. Fulfilment centres are described as a key part of the companyâs operations network and the starting point for many Amazon packages. The work environment is fast paced, round the clock, and supported by a mix of people who handle physical operations as well as data and analysis.
What Amazon is looking for
- Previous experience managing people.
- Clear and concise communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience using data to guide and influence business decisions.
- Strong English-language communication ability, both written and spoken.
- A bachelorâs degree, an advanced degree, or equivalent experience.
Preferred background
- A bachelorâs degree, or a masterâs degree together with experience at Amazon or one of its subsidiaries or affiliates.
- Familiarity with improvement and process methods such as Six Sigma, Lean, PMP, or similar frameworks.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, import/export, or data entry and administration work.
- Professional experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
