This role sits within Googleâs Marketing Strategy and Operations function for the EMEA region and is focused on helping the business make better decisions, run with strong operational discipline, and move major initiatives forward. The position partners closely with senior leaders to shape regional strategy, improve how the organization operates, and support the broader marketing team as it scales across products and markets. It is based in London, UK.
Within Google Marketing, Strategy and Operations teams provide critical business insight and analysis, align teams around goals and execution, and help drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives. In this role, you will work with leadership to define direction, manage planning and operating rhythms, and collaborate across Marketing, Product, Finance, Engineering, HR, and Communications to solve difficult problems, prioritize the most important work, and improve operational effectiveness. The role is especially connected to EMEA Marketing, which supports a wide range of Google products and business areas, and it also serves as a strategic partner to the UKDEEP leadership group, covering UK Marketing, Regional P&D, and Events and Experiences.
The position is intended for someone who can think from first principles, work through ambiguous issues, and combine strong quantitative analysis with clear communication. The successful candidate will be expected to influence stakeholders at multiple levels, support decision-making with data, and help the leadership team translate strategy into execution. A strong interest in AI-enabled ways of working is also central to the role, with an expectation that the person in the job will help drive AI adoption across leadership and operational workflows.
What you will do
- Act as the principal strategic advisor and operational partner to the UKDEEP vice president and leadership team, turning complex business questions into structured, data-backed recommendations.
- Bring rigor to the management of the EMEA Marketing business by establishing and maintaining disciplined operating processes and business management practices.
- Lead organizational change efforts aimed at building the future-state operating model and achieving short-term goals for organizational health, while coordinating with the central Strategy and Operations strategy team.
- Help the leadership team and wider organization adopt AI more effectively by encouraging transformation in tools, habits, and workflows.
- Develop business reporting and performance insights for the EMEA Marketing leadership team and management group, and work closely with senior partners across EMEA Marketing, Finance, HR, and Communications.
What we are looking for
- A bachelorâs degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in leadership and operational strategy, including work in change management, performance measurement, and business restructuring.
- An MBA or similar level of practical experience is preferred.
- Experience using AI productivity tools to solve complicated, multi-layered problems and improve business or development workflows.
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, along with the ability to communicate findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Marketing experience, ideally across both consumer and business-to-business contexts, and preferably in the technology sector.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- A strong action orientation, with the ability to use AI as a practical tool to drive impact.
- Demonstrated advanced use of AI tools.
- The ability to influence across functions, manage broad and uncertain questions, and work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present recommendations effectively.
- English fluency, since Google says English proficiency is required for all roles unless the posting says otherwise.
