Salary: £91,000 – 104,000 per year
Requirements:
- Active SC Security Clearance used on a project within the past 12 months
- Experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role
- In-depth experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
- Proficiency in managing SQL Server databases
- Skilled in configuring and maintaining database servers and processes
- Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Familiarity with Windows Server, including Active Directory
- Ability to monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of availability, sustainability, and security
- Experience in analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real time
- Capability to refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Ability to assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
- Willingness to provide 24×7 support for critical production systems
- Experience performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities after hours
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications are a plus
- Preferred experience in Banking/Financial Services domain
Responsibilities:
- Start ASAP in March 2026
- Work on a 6-month contract based in Central London (Hybrid)
- Perform daily management of SQL Server databases
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes
- Conduct backups, restores, and manage recovery models
- Implement and oversee High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) for SQL Server
- Monitor systems health and performance consistently
- Analyze and correct issues in real-time as they arise
- Automate regular processes and document any changes made
- Assist developers with tuning queries and refining schemas
- Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
