Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Glasgow

This is a high-impact consulting role within the cloud advisory practice, focused on helping clients reshape how they operate in the cloud. The work sits at the intersection of technology, service management, and organizational change, with a strong emphasis on building operating models that are automation-led and ready for AI. You would help organizations design, assess, and improve cloud operating models so they can achieve real business value from cloud adoption, especially as generative AI, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation begin to change how cloud-based services are run.

What you would do

  • Advise clients on the operational and organizational consequences of cloud transformation, and help them develop modern business models supported by cloud and data-driven, AI-ready operating structures.
  • Review current cloud operating models and identify where standardization, automation, better data movement, and AI-readiness can improve performance and maturity.
  • Turn assessment findings into future-state designs, including service management processes, governance arrangements, and organizational structures that are practical, measurable, and built around automation-first principles.
  • Design target cloud operating models and service management frameworks that reflect the client’s cloud maturity and strategic direction.
  • Define future operating processes across service delivery, governance, and operational workflows so they support automation and AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Measure and evaluate the success and maturity of cloud operating model change, using operational metrics, service data, and insights to recommend further improvements.
  • Help clients introduce intelligent monitoring, service analytics, and AIOps-aligned practices where they are appropriate.
  • Use strategy, service management, agile delivery, DevOps, business process mapping, and organization design skills to deliver digitally enabled business outcomes.
  • Support the use of intelligent workflows, automation, and AI-assisted operations as part of broader cloud transformation programs.
  • Work with clients at all levels of the organization to design, innovate, and implement cloud change.
  • Advise on how large language models, copilot tools, and agentic AI can be used in cloud operating models, including for service automation, intelligent triage, and AI-supported decision-making.
  • Help clients think through AI governance issues, including data quality and transparency, so adoption is responsible and well controlled.
  • Contribute to business development activity such as proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition building, client pitches, and hosting clients at events.
  • Support internal practice development through campaigns, think tanks, whitepapers, recruitment, team activities, and offering development.
  • Take part in learning and development activities, including training and certifications that support your growth and the skills the business needs.

What the team is looking for

  • Experience helping businesses transform through technology and change the way they operate.
  • Confidence working in a technology-focused environment and bringing practical consulting experience to client work.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL v4 and/or v5 best practices, especially incident, change, and problem management, plus service desk operations, with an interest in how automation and AI tools are changing these processes.
  • An ITIL v4 and/or v5 Foundation certificate, or a higher-level ITIL qualification, would be particularly valued.
  • Practical familiarity with generative AI tools and platforms, and an understanding of how they fit into cloud operating models and ITSM workflows.
  • Interest in agentic AI approaches and how autonomous agents are beginning to reshape IT operations and service delivery.
  • Experience with DevOps methods, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and modern delivery pipelines.
  • Ability to manage and architect solutions on major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including compute, storage, networking, and security capabilities.
  • Knowledge of cloud security good practice and compliance requirements so that cloud environments and automated services remain secure, resilient, and aligned to standards and regulations.
  • Experience in a major consulting firm, or industry experience backed by a consulting background.
  • Evidence that you can succeed in a matrixed organization and gain commitment from colleagues when selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience creating propositions and helping deliver them.
  • Clear curiosity and ongoing learning in AI, demonstrated through certifications, personal projects, published thinking, community involvement, or internal practice contributions.
  • Ability to support business development by drawing on existing relationships, wider company relationships, and your own network.
  • This opportunity is aimed at experienced professionals at Consultant or Senior Consultant level.
  • The role is permanent and based in the UK, with London, Glasgow, and Manchester listed as locations.
