Salary: £57,000 – 96,000 per year
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and deployment patterns in public, private, and hybrid environments.
- Solid knowledge of cloud governance principles, including policies, standards, guardrails, and controls.
- Experience identifying cloud risks and supporting risk mitigation and compliance activities.
- Working knowledge of regulatory, risk, and assurance requirements relevant to cloud environments.
- Understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost governance.
- Experience in a product-led, platform-based operating model with governance and risk embedded in practices.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to build relationships across teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing governance processes and recommending improvements.
- Highly organized and delivery-focused; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Technology, or Risk Management.
- Equivalent practical experience in cloud platforms or governance will be considered.
- Experience working in large, complex organizations across multiple business units.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms and cost management tooling.
- Proven ability to advise and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Certification in cloud-related areas (AWS, Azure, CCSP, ITIL 4, CRISC) is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Cloud Engineering and Architecture to define and execute the cloud governance strategy.
- Identify risks and vulnerabilities across the cloud estate, designing and implementing mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define, implement, and improve Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Work closely with FinOps for effective cost control and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to cloud standards, principles, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Cloud Engineering to design and enforce cloud governance policies.
- Facilitate the cloud front door process for stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinate regular cloud platform maturity assessments, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Identify and automate manual governance activities to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
