If you are excited by the challenge of designing and building user interfaces, creating memorable digital experiences, and developing modern front ends for a broad range of clients, this graduate opportunity offers the chance to do that work in a highly innovative environment. The role is for a 2026 start, with successful applicants able to begin between May and October 2026. Recruitment is handled on a rolling basis, so applications are considered as they arrive and the advert will close once the vacancy has been filled.

About the role

As a graduate JavaScript UI engineer, you will take responsibility for UI development across a variety of products and services for ambitious, globally recognised clients. You will work in an agile scrum team and help deliver high-quality digital solutions that make a meaningful difference to users and customers. The projects can be highly varied, ranging from therapeutic connected devices that support brain injury treatment to smart heating systems and configuration tools for wireless robot networks.

The position is not limited to traditional interface work. The team is also interested in people who want to explore AI workflows and intelligent-agent style solutions alongside UI engineering. This creates an opportunity to combine modern front-end development with automation and AI-enabled approaches where they add value.

You will collaborate with a wide mix of specialists, including software engineers, front-end developers, user experience and service designers, mathematicians, test engineers, and DevOps professionals. You will also work closely with other front-end developers, UI and UX designers, and technical leaders to help strengthen the organisation’s capability in excellent UI development, including the tools, processes, and techniques used to deliver it.

What you will do

  • Design and build data visualisations and other creative interface elements for client projects.
  • Work as part of a team to plan and deliver digital services that help clients achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to the delivery of polished, ambitious solutions within an agile scrum setting.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in UI engineering, AI tools, frameworks, and best practices so you can apply them to practical problems.
  • Support the exploration of AI-driven workflows and agent-based solutions where relevant to the work.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to improve UI development capability, working methods, and technical approaches.
  • Adapt to different project needs by using the most appropriate technologies rather than a single fixed stack.

Technology and environment

There is no single prescribed technology stack for this role. The tools used will depend on the project, and you can expect to encounter technologies such as TypeScript, Swift, Python, LangChain, TensorFlow, BMad, and GitLab CI. The role offers exposure to modern front-end development as well as AI-related tooling and automation approaches.

What you can expect from the experience

During your time in the role, you will have access to a broad range of projects across multiple industries, which should keep the work varied and interesting. You will also receive mentoring and training that is tailored to your ambitions, helping you develop in the direction that matters most to you. In addition, you will have the freedom to choose the tools and processes that best fit your craft, along with opportunities to enjoy the workplace and build meaningful relationships with colleagues.

What the employer is looking for

  • You are currently studying for, or have already completed, a relevant degree such as computer science, software engineering, or web development, and you have achieved good academic results.
  • You can communicate clearly and work effectively with colleagues and clients to understand challenges and present thoughtful solutions.
  • You have a strong interest in current technology trends and are eager to keep learning.
  • You have practical experience building user interfaces, or you are highly interested in the area and have some programming experience.
  • You are comfortable working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and contributing to discussions about design, development, and delivery.

Application notes

Applications are reviewed as they are received, and there is no fixed closing date. The employer states that the role will remain open until it is filled, so early application is encouraged. By applying, you confirm that the information and supporting documents you provide are accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge, and you acknowledge that the organisation may verify the details submitted. The employer also notes that false, misleading, or incomplete information may lead to removal from the recruitment process, withdrawal of an offer, or dismissal without notice if discovered after appointment.

Why this role may appeal to you

This is a chance to join a team that values innovation, creativity, and practical impact. You will be working on technically interesting problems, learning from experienced specialists, and contributing to products and services that can improve people’s lives. The role is well suited to a graduate who wants to grow in UI engineering while also exploring modern AI-enabled development approaches.
