Bloomberg is seeking an Immigration Specialist to join its Human Resources function in London and support the EMEA immigration team on a daily basis. The role sits within a global immigration operation that helps foreign national employees with immigration needs, monitors how changes in immigration rules affect the business, and works to keep service quality high while reducing compliance risk, controlling costs where sensible, improving processes, and managing external vendors efficiently.

The wider environment is described as fast-moving and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Bloomberg notes that it has a large international workforce and regularly relocates employees and new hires both within countries and across borders, so the immigration function plays an important part in supporting business mobility and maintaining compliance.

What you will do

  • Advise on complex immigration matters while working alongside external legal counsel.
  • Manage immigration cases day to day and produce reporting as needed.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the business to support immigration activity.
  • Help ensure that compliance obligations are met across the region.
  • Look for ways to improve processes and put workable solutions into practice.
  • Design and deliver training on immigration procedures and regional immigration trends.
  • Maintain the relationship with outside legal advisers and monitor whether service expectations are being met.
  • Provide employees, new hires, and managers with a reliable, consistent, high-quality service experience.
  • Support the continued development of the immigration program, with particular attention to strategy and metrics.

What Bloomberg is looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least three years of demonstrable immigration experience in the UK and/or EMEA region, gained either in an in-house immigration program or with a service provider. Bloomberg says this is a guideline rather than a strict cutoff and will still review candidates who can show the necessary capability.
  • The ability to work independently, analyse information carefully, and stay effective when under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgement, initiative, and a proactive mindset for identifying solutions.
  • A strong sense of urgency, close attention to detail, and the discipline to complete work thoroughly.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise multiple responsibilities and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills, including comfort interacting with colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience working well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic, goal-oriented setting.
  • A strong work ethic and a positive, practical, hands-on approach.

Experience that would be especially valuable

  • Previous work as an immigration specialist, either in-house or at a corporate immigration or consultancy firm.
  • Persistence and creativity when solving problems.
  • Experience handling challenging conversations, carrying out research, documenting processes, analysing data, and resolving issues.

How to apply

If the role sounds like a good fit, Bloomberg invites you to submit an application. The company says it will contact candidates about the next steps if there is a match.
