This role sits within Amazonâs learning function in a fulfilment centre environment, where the focus is on helping associates work safely, maintain quality standards, and receive the training they need to succeed from day one. The learning manager is part of the site leadership team and is responsible for understanding the needs of the business, turning those needs into practical learning plans, and making sure training is delivered effectively across the site. The position involves close contact with operations and regular time on the warehouse floor, so the successful person will be working in a fast-moving, hands-on setting where people development is a key part of the siteâs success.
What you will do
- Take responsibility for leading and developing a team consisting of Trainers and a Learning Specialist.
- Own training for associates and leaders at the site from start to finish, beginning with identifying needs and continuing through planning, delivery, and execution.
- Work with other Learning teams across Europe to build partnerships, compare approaches, and share effective practices.
- Plan, develop, and review training activities together with the senior leadership team and Amazonâs central leadership group.
- Identify where coaching or training can improve quality and productivity, then put those solutions in place proactively.
- Provide leadership coaching through one-to-one conversations and facilitated workshops, helping managers and leaders build stronger coaching and management skills.
What Amazon is looking for
- Experience managing projects and delivering them successfully.

- Experience managing and developing teams.
- A degree or equivalent experience in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or a similar subject area.
- A degree or equivalent experience in business, operations, supply chain, learning, or another relevant field.
- The ability to analyse business challenges, understand what the site needs, and influence decisions and outcomes.
- Confidence working collaboratively with a central EU team and other stakeholders to prioritise and deploy training effectively.
- Comfort operating in an Amazon fulfilment centre, including spending time on the warehouse floor with operational teams.
- Preferred qualification: a bachelorâs degree or equivalent.
Working environment
The role is based in Peterborough, UK, within Amazonâs fulfilment centre network. It is a leadership position in the Leadership Development and Training area, and it is closely tied to the day-to-day operation of the site.
