Capgemini Invent is looking for an experienced senior consulting leader to join its Energy Transition & Utilities practice, with a particular focus on the nuclear sector. The team is growing quickly because of rising demand for advisory, consulting, and transformation support across the utilities and energy transition market. This role is intended to strengthen Capgemini Invent’s position in nuclear by combining sector knowledge, consulting capability, commercial drive, and leadership.

The wider practice works with clients across energy networks, energy retail, energy central markets, water, and nuclear. The business brings together strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, scientific insight, digital and data expertise, and technology-enabled delivery to help clients address current challenges and prepare for future change. In this role, you would help shape that work in the nuclear space and contribute to the growth of the practice.

What you would do

  • Lead important nuclear energy programmes that help clients and the UK progress toward a cleaner, more secure, and more sustainable energy future.
  • Take responsibility for client engagements across the full civil nuclear lifecycle.
  • Work alongside a broad, multidisciplinary group of specialists covering civil engineering, digital and data, business operations, nuclear industry knowledge, and emerging technologies including AI.
  • Engage with clients across all levels of their organisations and guide experienced delivery teams toward better project outcomes and stronger operational performance.
  • Help define the direction of the nuclear business and support its growth.
  • Develop and maintain senior client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Coach and develop junior colleagues while demonstrating the organisation’s values and behaviours.
  • Contribute to business development activity and thought leadership.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities proactively.
  • Support wider business activity through campaign development, internal think-tanks, white papers, practice development, recruitment, team events, and offering development.
  • Continue building your own capability through learning and development activity.

What the role requires

  • Experience in the civil nuclear sector, potentially including engineering, construction, operations, commissioning, or decommissioning work connected to nuclear projects, assets, or facilities.
  • Strong consulting experience, either from a major consulting firm or from industry with a consulting background.
  • Commercial and business understanding, including the ability to use your own network and the organisation’s existing relationships to generate additional revenue.
  • The ability to drive improvement for clients by drawing on experience from the full civil nuclear lifecycle and other relevant sectors.
  • Evidence of success in a matrixed organisation and the ability to gain support and commitment from peers when selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective networks.
  • Confidence working in fast-paced, high-performing environments.
  • A commitment to delivery excellence and consistently high standards.
  • A proactive, growth-oriented mindset and a willingness to work with leadership to pursue both new and existing opportunities.
  • Capability as both a business leader and a people leader.
  • This is an experienced professional position on a permanent contract.
