Product Designer, Internship Overview

Palantir builds software that helps organizations make data-driven decisions and run complex operations. What you would do

• Act as a product designer on real product teams, with the expectation that you will work with limited supervision and own features through the full design process.
• Partner with designers, product managers, developers, and forward deployed engineers to improve and evolve Palantir products.
• Help shape early concepts into workable product ideas, define the overall flow of a feature, and refine the detailed interactions that make the experience feel simple and intuitive.
• Create polished visual designs for complex product experiences.
• Use design and prototyping tools such as Figma to explore and communicate solutions.
• Take part in user research by visiting customer offices, interviewing users, and learning directly from the people who rely on the software.
• Apply a mix of research approaches, including usability testing, contextual inquiry, product metrics, and usage data, to inform design decisions.
• Work closely with engineering and product partners to prototype and build products, treating them as collaborators in the design process.
• Help improve UX consistency by contributing reusable interface components and advocating for coherent design patterns.
• Participate in critique, share your thinking clearly, and iterate quickly based on feedback from teammates and users.

What is required

• You must be expected to graduate in 2028.
• This internship should be your last internship before graduation.
• You need a portfolio that includes at least one project involving software interface design.

• You should already have experience designing and prototyping digital products, including use of tools like Figma.
• You should understand how interfaces are implemented and be able to work effectively with engineers on front-end possibilities and constraints.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript is preferred, though deep expertise is not required.

Working style and environment

The role is based in London, United Kingdom and is listed as on-site. Palantir says it believes people do their best work together in person, so it encourages office-based work to support connection and innovation.
