Qualifications Not Specified
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Manchester

This role sits within Capgemini Invent’s Cloud Advisory capability and is focused on helping clients reshape how they operate in the cloud. The position is aimed at someone who can work across technology, service management, and organisational change to design and improve cloud operating models that are built for automation, intelligent workflows, and AI-enabled ways of working. The work is intended to help clients turn cloud adoption into measurable business value, with particular attention to how generative AI, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation are changing operating practices.

What you will do

  • Advise clients on the organisational and operational consequences of cloud transformation, and help them develop digitally enabled business models supported by cloud and data-led, AI-ready operating models.
  • Assess existing cloud operating models and related service management practices to identify where standardisation, automation, improved data movement, and AI readiness can improve performance.
  • Turn assessment findings into future-state operating models, service management processes, and organisational structures that are practical, measurable, and designed around automation-first and AI-ready principles.
  • Design target cloud operating models, governance approaches, and service management frameworks that reflect the client’s cloud maturity and strategic direction.
  • Define future-state processes across service delivery, governance, and operational workflows so that the design is workable and aligned to the client’s ambitions.
  • Measure and review the effectiveness and maturity of cloud operating model change, using operational metrics, service data, and insights to identify further improvements.
  • Support the introduction of intelligent monitoring, service analytics, and AIOps-style practices where they add value.
  • Use strategy, service management, agile delivery, DevOps, business process mapping, and organisational design skills to help deliver business outcomes enabled by cloud transformation.
  • Work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation to shape, design, and implement cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to the growth of the consulting practice through client work, innovation, and thought leadership.
  • Advise on the use of large language models, copilot tools, and agentic AI within cloud operating models, including applications such as service automation, intelligent triage, and AI-supported decision-making.
  • Help clients think through AI governance issues, including the importance of data quality and transparency in responsible adoption.
  • Take part in business development activity, including proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, and support for client pitches and events.
  • Contribute internally through campaign work, think-tanks, white papers, practice development, recruitment-related activity, team events, and offering development.
  • Engage in learning and development opportunities such as training and certifications to support your own progression and the capability needs of the business.

The environment is described as one where you can experiment, innovate, and shape your own career path, with mentoring available from experts in data and AI.

What they are looking for

  • Experience helping organisations transform through technology and rethinking how clients operate.
  • Comfort working in a technology-driven setting.
  • Practical knowledge of ITIL v4 and/or v5 best practices, including incident, change, problem, and service desk management, together with an interest in how automation and AI tools change these processes.
  • An ITIL v4 and/or v5 Foundation certificate, or a higher-level ITIL qualification, would be particularly valuable.
  • Hands-on familiarity with generative AI tools and platforms, and an understanding of how they fit into cloud operating models and ITSM workflows.
  • A strong interest in agentic AI patterns and how autonomous agents are beginning to reshape IT operations and service delivery.

  • Ability to manage and architect solutions on major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including compute, storage, networking, and security services.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practice and compliance requirements so that cloud environments and automated services remain secure, resilient, and aligned with standards and regulations.
  • Experience in a major consulting firm, or industry experience backed by a consulting background.
  • Evidence of success in a matrixed organisation and the ability to gain support from peers when selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience building propositions and delivering them.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning in AI, demonstrated through certifications, personal projects, published ideas, community participation, or internal practice development.
  • Ability to support business development using existing relationships, wider company relationships, and your own network.
