This role is for a strategic, customer-oriented Senior Program Manager focused on Navy logistics programs. What you will do

  • Build, implement, and improve a portfolio of customer success initiatives covering onboarding, adoption, value realization, and renewal.
  • Drive opportunity discovery, solution shaping, and sales support work, including preparing responses to RFIs and RFPs for both new pursuits and existing programs or accounts.
  • Work directly with senior government leaders to help shape program direction, negotiate requirements, and support related contract discussions.
  • Lead major cross-functional programs from launch through completion, ensuring delivery stays on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic goals.
  • Create and maintain a forward-looking roadmap for customer success activities that supports both company objectives and customer priorities.
  • Represent the customer internally by collecting feedback, analyzing trends, and using those insights to influence product strategy.
  • Apply Navy logistics expertise to modernization planning and to the development of Appian’s product vision.
  • Bring innovation into delivery methods, including the use of AI-enabled tools and approaches to improve speed, quality, and mission support.
  • Define, monitor, and communicate performance measures such as customer health, agile delivery metrics, and program financial and operational results.
  • Partner with leaders across functions to ensure customers experience a coordinated and consistent journey across all touchpoints.
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with important customer stakeholders and act as a strategic partner to them.
  • Anticipate risks to customer success and put practical mitigation plans in place before issues escalate.
  • Coach and mentor Customer Success team members and help create a high-performing team environment.

What the company is looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 15 years of program management experience delivering complex technology modernization work for the Department of War or comparable federal agencies.
  • Experience leading programs that involve more than 50 resources and more than $13 million in annual services revenue.
  • Preferred credentials include PMP or PgMP, plus agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master or SAFe Agilist.
  • A strong record of successfully delivering complex programs and large-scale projects with measurable business or mission outcomes.
  • Experience developing people and mentoring team members.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into decisions and action.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Prior experience and relationships in the Navy logistics space are strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Appian, other modern enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, or Palantir, and/or custom software development.
  • Experience leading modernization efforts using agile delivery methods and AI-assisted code generation techniques.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. government clearance.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed.

Compensation and rewards

The posted base salary range is $150,000 to $325,000 USD. The company notes that the final offer will depend on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal pay alignment, and current market and business conditions. This role is also eligible for a government clearance differential. A discretionary bonus may be paid based on individual and company performance, and some positions may also receive equity awards.
