This is an opportunity for a senior verification specialist to join a growing GPU-focused engineering team in Bristol. The role sits within a respected graphics organisation working on advanced hardware for graphics, AI, connectivity processors, and related IP. It is aimed at someone who wants to apply deep verification expertise to challenging, high-value semiconductor designs and help deliver the next generation of chips used in everyday electronic products.
What the role involves
- Taking ownership of verification for a GPU component or subsystem across the full lifecycle, starting with early planning and continuing through to final sign-off.
- Building and maintaining verification plans and UVM-based testbench components as the design progresses.
- Contributing to the definition of the design specification by providing verification insight and feedback at an early stage.
- Developing UVM testbenches and writing the tests, sequences, functional coverage, assertions, and supporting plans needed to verify the design thoroughly.
- Estimating the effort required for your own work, tracking delivery, and managing your tasks through to completion.
- Helping to shape and improve the verification methodology used by the GPU team.
- Taking part in design and verification reviews and recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Supporting the wider team by leading, coaching, and mentoring colleagues when needed.
- Investigating difficult technical problems, identifying the root cause, and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
What the employer is looking for
- A strong history of creating verification environments for complex RTL designs.
- Solid experience with constrained-random verification and a clear understanding of the challenges involved in achieving verification closure.
- Confidence in defining verification requirements and working out how a testbench should be implemented in practice.
- Ability to analyse complex failures, trace them back to the underlying cause, and drive them to resolution.
- Excellent knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Experience developing new verification flows, not just using existing ones.
- Background in advanced hardware verification, ideally in GPU, graphics, AI, connectivity processor, or similar IP work.
- The ability to work effectively in a technically demanding environment focused on cutting-edge designs.
What is on offer
- A base salary plus bonus package, with the exact level depending on experience.
- The chance to work in a leading GPU division on highly advanced graphics and AI chip development.
- Exposure to designs that contribute to the performance of widely used consumer and electronic products.
- The opportunity to influence verification strategy and methodology within the team.
- Scope to take on mentoring and leadership responsibilities as part of the role.
