This London-based technical project management role sits at the centre of Liberty Global’s AI platform programmes and is focused on making sure external delivery partners actually deliver. You will act as the main link between the Development and Engineering team, the build partner carrying out the work, and external customers, ensuring that delivery stays on track and that issues are addressed before they become major problems.

The role is hands-on and delivery-led. It is intended for someone who understands the technical shape of what is being built, can assess delivery plans critically, and is comfortable challenging suppliers when plans, estimates, or progress do not hold up. The emphasis is on outcomes, accountability, and clear decision-making rather than passive coordination.

What you will do

• Lead external build partners through the full delivery lifecycle, setting clear expectations, tracking progress against them, and holding partners accountable when scope, timing, or quality begins to slip.
• Take ownership of the delivery plan for the AI platform programme, including milestones, dependencies, the critical path, and risk management, while keeping the plan accurate as the programme changes.
• Translate between technical teams and business stakeholders, turning engineering detail into clear updates, decisions, and trade-offs that people can act on.
• Manage statements of work, change requests, and commercial discussions with suppliers, ensuring that contracted scope aligns with what is delivered and that any scope changes are governed properly.
• Run programme governance activities such as steering committees, delivery reviews, and risk registers in a way that is efficient, practical, and still rigorous enough to support good decisions.
• Identify delivery issues early, raise them in a structured way, outline the available options, recommend a path forward, and push the matter through to resolution.
• Coordinate across operating companies and group functions so that the right people stay informed, aligned, and able to move work forward across several markets.
• Work closely with internal engineering teams, external delivery partners, and customers to keep the programme moving and to maintain control over scope and quality.
• Challenge vendor assumptions and estimates where needed, rather than accepting supplier assurances without scrutiny.
• Step in decisively when delivery starts to drift, restoring pace and accountability where necessary.

What the team is looking for

• Significant experience in technical project management, particularly on complex software or platform programmes where the technology itself is challenging.
• A strong background in managing external SI and vendor relationships, with evidence that you have actively directed delivery rather than simply attended status meetings.
• Enough technical fluency to review architecture diagrams, understand trade-offs, and recognise when a supplier plan or estimate does not seem credible.
• Commercial confidence and practical experience with statements of work, change control, and vendor performance management.
• Experience working in matrixed environments with many stakeholders, competing priorities, and multiple reporting lines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce status updates that are genuinely useful and escalations that clearly set out the decision required.
• A delivery-focused mindset that prioritises outcomes over activity and keeps attention on shipping the actual solution.
• The ability to stay calm under pressure and to be direct when the situation calls for it, especially if a partner is drifting or underperforming.
• A balanced approach to governance, using lightweight process where possible but applying tighter control when the stakes are higher.
• Sound judgment on when to escalate, when to absorb an issue, and when to push back.
• A resilient, curious, and collaborative working style suited to a fast-paced and innovative environment.
• Technical literacy is expected, but the role does not require you to write code; it does require you to understand enough to challenge constructively.
