The AWS Security Assurance Services team is part of Amazon Web Services and focuses on building scalable security solutions that help both internal and external customers achieve strong security outcomes. The group works to secure customer workloads and support the move of regulated systems and data into the cloud by helping organizations apply the shared responsibility model in practical, measurable ways. This role sits at the intersection of cloud, cybersecurity, governance, risk, and compliance, and is aimed at someone who can help customers understand how to meet assurance and compliance goals while operating on AWS.<\/p>\n

This is a customer-facing Solutions Architect position within AWS Support, created to help grow the Security Assurance practice and to educate customers on how AWS\u00e2\u0080\u0099s product-led, people-powered services can support secure operations and compliance assurance. The role is suited to a professional who can work across multiple business areas, learn from a wide range of security and compliance scenarios, and communicate clearly with both technical and executive audiences.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Collaborate with Amazonians, partners, and customers to improve security assurance and compliance programs.<\/li>\n
  • Help shape innovative risk and compliance approaches that make it easier for customers to move sensitive workloads to the cloud.<\/li>\n
  • Lead customer conversations focused on security assurance, risk management, and compliance while running workloads in AWS.<\/li>\n
  • Take part in deep technical and strategic discussions, present recommendations, and demonstrate how compliance can be automated in AWS.<\/li>\n
  • Convert customer regulatory and risk requirements into scalable cloud solutions that can be understood and adopted across an organization.<\/li>\n
  • Communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, and explain complex compliance topics in a clear and practical way.<\/li>\n
  • Share customer and partner feedback with AWS engineering, support, and business teams so it can inform future technology direction.<\/li>\n
  • Travel to customer locations when needed to support engagements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Team context<\/h3>\n

    The Security Assurance Services organization includes industry-certified assessors and operates as a PCI-QSAC and HITRUST External Assessor Firm. The team helps customers achieve, maintain, and automate compliance in the cloud by connecting audit standards to AWS service features and functionality.     What the role requires<\/h3>\n

    • Hands-on background in risk management and internal audit, including risk assessments, audits, control design, enterprise control frameworks, and risk prioritization.<\/li>\n
    • A bachelor\u00e2\u0080\u0099s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Information Security, or a related field.<\/li>\n
    • At least five years working in IT security, compliance and risk management, data privacy, or security controls.<\/li>\n
    • At least two years advising customers on architectures that align with standards and regulations such as NIST 800-53 and GDPR.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work through a wide variety of compliance demands and turn them into scalable, practical solutions.<\/li>\n
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred background<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Professional credentials such as CPA, CMA, CISA, CIA, or similar audit, risk, or compliance qualifications.<\/li>\n
      • Experience using Agile delivery methods and DevOps practices.<\/li>\n
      • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, GCIH, GSEC, or Security+.<\/li>\n
      • Experience conducting security assessments and information system audits across networks, operating systems, application security, and IT processes.<\/li>\n
      • The ability to think strategically about business needs, product direction, and technical challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
