This role sits within Amazon\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Workplace Health and Safety function and is focused on making sure people stay safe and well while working. In this position, you will be based on site at one of Amazon\u00e2\u0080\u0099s operational locations, such as a fulfilment centre, sortation centre, or delivery station. Being physically present allows you to monitor processes closely, identify hazards, and work directly with colleagues to improve safety performance. You will help create a culture where people feel confident, supported, and able to do their best work because the workplace is well controlled and compliant.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Measure how the site is performing against agreed safety and operational targets, then build action plans to improve processes where needed.<\/li>\n
  • Develop and implement workplace health and safety programmes, and organise training sessions so teams understand and follow the right procedures.<\/li>\n
  • Review safety data, incident patterns, and trends to help the business decide where resources are needed most, especially in higher-risk areas.<\/li>\n
  • Carry out audits to check that the site is meeting relevant health and safety laws and standards, and introduce corrective actions when risks are found.<\/li>\n
  • Work on location to observe day-to-day activity, identify potential problems, and find opportunities to make processes safer and more efficient.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with people across the business to understand the risks they face and to gather information that supports smarter safety decisions.<\/li>\n
  • Help introduce new safety processes and standards by delivering training and other programmes that encourage consistent adoption.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to wider safety and wellbeing work across the Workplace Health and Safety team, helping uphold Amazon\u00e2\u0080\u0099s expectations and legal obligations.<\/li>\n
  • Take part in a range of projects that may include equipment and process inspections, assessments, and work connected to building and equipment design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Team and environment<\/h3>\n

    The Workplace Health and Safety team plays an important role in protecting both the mental and physical wellbeing of Amazon employees. The team works with managers, associates, and local authorities across Amazon sites to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The function includes a variety of career paths, from Health and Safety Technicians through to Programme Managers, and this role contributes to the ongoing development and delivery of Amazon\u00e2\u0080\u0099s safety and wellbeing standards.<\/p>\n

    You can expect to work closely with colleagues from different parts of the business and to be involved in a broad mix of safety-related activity. The work may include reviewing operational processes, inspecting equipment, and considering how buildings and equipment are designed from a safety perspective.<\/p>\n

    What you need<\/h3>\n

    • Confident communication skills in English, both in writing and speaking.<\/li>\n
    • A degree, or an equivalent qualification at the level recognised by the European Qualifications Framework, in Occupational Safety.<\/li>\n
    • Experience leading or managing a team.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working in line with local health and safety legislation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Background in emergency response.<\/li>\n
      • Experience using Lean, 5S, or Kaizen approaches.<\/li>\n
