In practical terms, this work provides the connecting fabric that allows processors, accelerators, memory controllers, and peripherals to operate as one complete system. The Technical Communications team supporting System IP is responsible for producing the documentation for both the System IP portfolio and the IP Tooling software platform used to configure Arm IP. In this senior role, you would act as a technical lead within that team, taking ownership of documentation strategy for System IP work, guiding content from early planning through release, and helping deliver the written material that supports Arm\u00e2\u0080\u0099s products and customer success.<\/p>\n<h3>What you will do<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Create, maintain, and improve clear documentation that helps users understand System IP hardware designs and the IP Tooling software platform.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with engineering and other specialist teams to gather detailed technical information, check accuracy, and turn complex material into content that is easy to use.<\/li>\n<li>Handle several documentation streams at once across multiple IP projects and overlapping release timelines.<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership to other information developers by mentoring them and overseeing how content is planned and delivered.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and refine documentation standards, content structures, and review processes that can be reused across teams and projects.<\/li>\n<li>Introduce better authoring tools, workflows, and automation approaches that improve both efficiency and documentation quality.<\/li>\n<li>Champion strong content practices and help influence documentation direction across System IP programmes and the wider technical communications group.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute as a senior member of the team by shaping documentation work from the planning stage through to final delivery and release support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What Arm is looking for<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>At least four years of experience working as an information developer or technical writer on large, complex documentation sets.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence that you can coordinate content across several projects and multiple release cycles without losing control of priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving ability, combined with a practical, adaptable approach.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and organisation skills, especially when working with people from different disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in learning about new technologies and keeping pace with changing documentation methods and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Confidence using standard professional documentation tools and working in ways that support scalable content delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to respond positively to change and adjust your approach when needed.<\/li>\n<li>A collaborative, inclusive working style and an open-minded personality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Experience that would be especially useful<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Background documenting low-level hardware or software in a SoC, semiconductor, or embedded systems environment, such as firmware, board support packages, boot flows, or system configuration.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of hardware design concepts such as RTL, IP integration, chip bring-up, validation processes, or FPGA prototyping.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with modern documentation toolchains and automation methods, including Markdown or reStructuredText, Jenkins, JSON or YAML, Python, or shift-left content generation.<\/li>\n<li>A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Physics, Maths, English, Linguistics, or Law.<\/li>\n<li>Experience leading people, or a clear ambition to move into people leadership as part of your career development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Arm emphasises that candidates do not need to match every item on the list.
