What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Act as the lead technical contact for a large and complex financial services client, developing strong working relationships with senior leaders such as CTOs, CDOs, and data architects.<\/li>\n
  • Design and implement governance approaches for data, including lineage, metadata management, access controls, and compliance with regulations and standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and BCBS 239.<\/li>\n
  • Define and champion ways of distributing data ownership across business units and technical teams so that data responsibility is decentralized while oversight, consistency, and control remain in place.<\/li>\n
  • Build data capabilities that operate smoothly across on-premises systems and multiple cloud providers, with attention to portability, interoperability, and dependable access.<\/li>\n
  • Evaluate the data architecture implications of emerging agentic technologies and design for needs such as real-time streaming, vector databases, and secure data sharing for autonomous agents.<\/li>\n
  • Deliver innovative, reusable, enterprise-grade solutions that create measurable customer value and support broader adoption of Google Cloud.<\/li>\n
  • Help position Google Cloud as the customer\u00e2\u0080\u0099s first choice by providing solutions that are highly relevant to the financial services industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the role requires<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • A bachelor\u00e2\u0080\u0099s degree or equivalent practical experience.<\/li>\n
    • Seven or more years working in data architecture, data engineering, or a related area.<\/li>\n
    • Five or more years of experience with data platforms and technologies.<\/li>\n
    • Direct experience designing and implementing data solutions for enterprise customers in the financial markets sector, especially in hybrid and multi-cloud settings.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with data modeling and graph database technologies, including RDF, property graphs, or similar systems.<\/li>\n
    • Comfort working through ambiguous problems, making decisions, influencing stakeholders, and applying deep expertise in the domain.<\/li>\n
    • Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect are preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Experience creating data governance, security, and compliance solutions in highly regulated environments is preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Experience contributing to open-source data projects is preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts and how they can be used in data management and analysis is preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of emerging agentic technologies and their impact on data architecture is preferred.<\/li>\n
