What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Set direction for data center electrical architecture at the system level, including contributing to research and development efforts and helping define operations and maintenance practices for the relevant systems and processes.<\/li>\n
  • Perform engineering analysis and investigate design methods for data center equipment and facility infrastructure.<\/li>\n
  • Check that designs and installations satisfy expected technical needs, including cooling, structural, operational, and other project constraints.<\/li>\n
  • Provide technical leadership across projects, helping guide electrical scope, design quality, schedule, commissioning, and safety, while also feeding improvement ideas back to central partner teams.<\/li>\n
  • Help create and align procedures that span projects, functions, and organizations so that electrical engineering work stays coordinated across multiple teams and initiatives.<\/li>\n
  • Act as the primary liaison between Google, the project management consultancy, and specialist contractors for electrical field engineering work on the UK campus.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate stakeholders involved in electrical field engineering and oversee electrical installation activities to ensure construction work meets project expectations and corporate standards.<\/li>\n
  • Make sure construction operations and performance comply with environment, health and safety requirements, quality expectations, and schedule commitments.<\/li>\n

    • Preferred experience working across disciplines such as structural, civil, IT\/telecom, security, mechanical, and architectural teams.<\/li>\n
    • Preferred experience in the design, construction, operation, and commissioning of medium- or low-voltage electrical distribution systems, AC\/DC systems, and associated power management or SCADA tools.<\/li>\n
    • Preferred experience with data center equipment and environments, including switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems.<\/li>\n
    • Preferred experience estimating, designing, operating, and commissioning substations, switchgear, ATP\/ATS systems, emergency power systems and their control systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.<\/li>\n
