What the role involves<\/h3>\n
This opportunity is aimed at ambitious transport modelling professionals who want to work on challenging schemes and apply data, modelling techniques and innovative approaches to real transport problems. You will partner with senior transport modellers and project managers to support both project delivery and bid work. The role covers the full modelling process, from early-stage data analysis and model development through to forecasting, scenario testing, scheme appraisal, reporting, visualisation and client-facing work.<\/p>\n
You will help develop strategic transport models, assess future conditions and evaluate mitigation options. The position also involves working with colleagues across different disciplines and locations, with the possibility of supporting projects elsewhere in the UK and overseas when required. Key responsibilities<\/h3>\n

Build and develop strategic transport models to support major transport planning and modelling assignments.<\/li>\n
Use data, modelling tools and creative methods to tackle real-world transport issues.<\/li>\n
Support senior modellers and project managers on live projects and bid submissions.<\/li>\n
Forecast future transport conditions and test different mitigation or intervention scenarios.<\/li>\n
Undertake scheme assessment and appraisal using modelling evidence and transport planning judgement.<\/li>\n
Carry out work across the full modelling lifecycle, including data analysis, model development, reporting, visualisation and engagement with clients.<\/li>\n
Work collaboratively with teams across disciplines and geographies, including support for projects in other parts of the UK and internationally when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with data, models and people, and who brings practical experience in transport modelling. The company is particularly interested in applicants with experience across highways, public transport and\/or multimodal models.<\/p>\n

Previous transport modelling experience, ideally covering highway, public transport or multimodal work.<\/li>\n
Practical experience using VISUM, SATURN, CUBE or MATSim, including model development, calibration and validation.<\/li>\n
Good knowledge of TAG requirements, forecasting and scenario testing.<\/li>\n
Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce clear, well-structured reports and technical notes.<\/li>\n
High standards of presentation in written and technical outputs.<\/li>\n
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.<\/li>\n
Experience level suited to someone already established in transport modelling and looking to grow further in strategic modelling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
