This role sits within the Building Engineering team and focuses on electrical engineering for rail-related building services work. The position is aimed at someone who can contribute to technical design and project delivery while also helping strengthen the team\u00e2\u0080\u0099s electrical capability across rail programmes at local, national, and international levels. You will work within the wider Building Engineering group and collaborate with colleagues across the UK and globally to deliver coordinated solutions for major clients in the rail sector.<\/p>\n

The work involves supporting important transport clients, including Network Rail and regional transport organisations, by producing clear, well-coordinated electrical engineering outputs. You will use modern Microsoft and Autodesk digital tools to support design and delivery, and where standard tools do not fully meet project needs, you may help shape improved digital approaches. As a senior member of the team, you will also help manage communication with clients and internal stakeholders, keeping track of progress, risks, and key milestones. Knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and continuous improvement are also part of the role, with an expectation that you will contribute to a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive working culture.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Carry out electrical technical design work and support the delivery of rail building services projects from concept through to completion.<\/li>\n
  • Help develop and expand the team\u00e2\u0080\u0099s electrical engineering capability across a range of rail programmes in the UK and internationally.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Building Engineering group, both in the UK and overseas, to produce joined-up engineering solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Support major rail clients such as Network Rail and regional transport bodies by delivering clear, coordinated electrical design outputs.<\/li>\n
  • Use Microsoft and Autodesk-based digital tools to support project delivery and contribute to the development of better digital methods when existing tools are not enough.<\/li>\n
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams, helping to manage progress, identify risks, and track important project milestones.<\/li>\n
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement across the team.<\/li>\n
  • Produce electrical designs that are compliant, technically robust, and appropriate for the built environment and rail sector.<\/li>\n
