What you will do<\/h3>\n

Lead pavement engineering activity with a strong focus on managing teams, coordinating projects, and helping shape the future direction of the discipline.<\/li>\n
Deliver pavement design and technical input for infrastructure schemes, including highways, airfield projects, and site development work.<\/li>\n
Work closely with multidisciplinary design teams and act as a key point of liaison between internal specialists and external clients.<\/li>\n
Take responsibility for pavement project management, including organising delivery, coordinating design work, and keeping outputs on track.<\/li>\n

What you need<\/h3>\n

Substantial experience in pavement design for infrastructure projects, with a strong record of technical delivery.<\/li>\n
Suitable experience at Senior or Associate level in pavement engineering.<\/li>\n
A degree in Civil Engineering.<\/li>\n
Clear enthusiasm for pavement-related work and infrastructure engineering.<\/li>\n
Certification as a pavement engineer in accordance with CD 226.<\/li>\n
Membership of a relevant professional institution, such as ICE or CIHT.<\/li>\n
Experience in analytical pavement design, pavement investigation, evaluation methods, and pavement strengthening design.<\/li>\n
Experience contributing to or developing pavement standards, along with awareness of innovation in pavement engineering.<\/li>\n
Good knowledge of pavement design principles across flexible, rigid, and composite pavement types.<\/li>\n
The ability to assess design strategies and select suitable pavement options for different budget scenarios, covering both new construction and maintenance work.<\/li>\n
Proven experience supervising work on site.<\/li>\n
Confidence taking ownership of pavement project management and design delivery.<\/li>\n
Commercial, financial, and contractual experience would be an advantage.<\/li>\n
