This position is for a senior MES architecture specialist who will lead the design and technical direction of large-scale manufacturing execution system programmes.   • Design complete MES architectures for enterprise deployments, with Siemens Opcenter as the primary platform.<\/li>\n
  • Translate manufacturing requirements such as production control, quality management, traceability, scheduling, and capacity planning into detailed solution designs.<\/li>\n
  • Produce and maintain key architecture outputs, including shopfloor system landscapes, ISA-95-based workflows, integration designs, and deployment views.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure the solution complies with enterprise architecture principles, cybersecurity expectations, and other non-functional requirements.<\/li>\n
  • Provide governance and oversight across the full MES lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and into post-go-live stabilisation.<\/li>\n
  • Act as the main technical decision-maker for MES architecture during design and implementation.<\/li>\n
  • Coach and support solution designers, technical leads, and plant implementation teams.<\/li>\n
  • Support configuration and customisation of Opcenter modules such as Execution, Quality, APS, and Intelligence.<\/li>\n
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to integration, performance, and deployment in manufacturing environments.<\/li>\n
  • Design and control integrations between Opcenter and surrounding systems such as ERP, PLM, SCADA, PLC, IoT, and analytics\/data platforms.<\/li>\n
  • Create manufacturing data models, genealogy and traceability structures, and real-time data exchange patterns.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain data integrity, system performance, and end-to-end visibility from the shopfloor to enterprise systems across the Level 3 to Level 4 landscape.<\/li>\n
  • Apply and promote ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards in the architecture and design approach.<\/li>\n
  • Work with operations, plant leadership, and engineering teams to align MES capabilities with production workflows, quality processes, WIP tracking, scheduling, and capacity planning.<\/li>\n
  • Help design the digital thread linking manufacturing, quality, and supply chain processes.<\/li>\n
  • Engage business, manufacturing, and IT stakeholders to validate and refine the proposed solution.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with Siemens Opcenter product teams to ensure alignment with platform capabilities and future roadmap direction.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to sales and pursuit activity by providing architecture input, estimates, and proposal support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Experience and qualifications needed<\/h3>\n

    • At least 15 years of experience in MES solution architecture and implementation, with strong Siemens Opcenter expertise.<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise MES programmes in multi-site manufacturing environments.<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of shopfloor operations, manufacturing execution, and production systems.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience with Opcenter modules including Execution, APS, Quality, and Intelligence.<\/li>\n
    • Experience integrating MES with ERP, PLM, SCADA, IoT, and data platforms.<\/li>\n
    • Strong working knowledge of ISA-95, ISA-88, and manufacturing data models.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both plant teams and executive stakeholders.<\/li>\n
    • Siemens Opcenter certifications are desirable.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in industrial manufacturing, automotive, aerospace and defence, or life sciences\/process manufacturing is preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Background in digital manufacturing transformation programmes is preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Prior experience in roles such as MES Solution Architect, Smart Manufacturing Architect, or Industry 4.0 Architect is preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Experience supporting clients in complex, regulated, or multi-site manufacturing settings is preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
