Amazon Web Services is seeking a Data Centre Security Specialist to join its growing Data Centre Operations organisation. The role sits within the security function supporting AWS infrastructure, where the focus is on protecting highly sensitive customer data and maintaining strong physical security across data centre campuses. The successful candidate will work closely with Data Centre Managers and the Area Security Manager to strengthen site security, support operational performance, and help ensure that security controls meet global standards.<\/p>\n

What the role involves<\/h3>\n

  • Managing the day-to-day activity of a contracted guard force that supports data centre security.<\/li>\n
  • Working alongside Data Centre Managers to develop security approaches that support operational needs, financial objectives, and stronger overall protection of the sites.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinating with vendors who are involved in repair work and the installation of new security-related construction or equipment.<\/li>\n
  • Monitoring the performance of security suppliers, checking whether agreed service levels are being delivered, and escalating or requesting corrective action when needed.<\/li>\n
  • Building effective working relationships with stakeholders so they understand how to reduce false alarms and improve security performance.<\/li>\n
  • Gathering, reviewing, and interpreting operational data to identify trends, measure progress, and support continuous improvement.<\/li>\n
  • Confirming that data centre security programmes are being delivered in line with AWS global security requirements.<\/li>\n
  • Designing and improving electronic surveillance and access control strategies.<\/li>\n
  • Producing reports and presentations that explain the current state of physical security operations.<\/li>\n
  • Working with managers to create, document, and implement security procedures and operating processes.<\/li>\n
