Fractile is developing the compute infrastructure needed for the next wave of AI, with hardware and chip engineering at the centre of its work. The finance team plays a critical role in keeping the business moving, and this position offers the chance to join a fast-growing deep-tech company at an early stage. The organisation has around 90 people spread across London, Bristol, and San Francisco, and it is expanding quickly.<\/p>\n

This opportunity is aimed at a newly or recently qualified accountant who wants broad exposure, real ownership, and the chance to strengthen technical finance skills in a highly interesting environment. Rather than sitting in a narrow specialist lane, the successful candidate will be involved across the full breadth of group finance and will have the opportunity to grow into FP&A responsibilities over time.<\/p>\n

What the role involves<\/h3>\n

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for the group\u00e2\u0080\u0099s monthly management accounts and the finance systems that support them. You will also be part of the day-to-day operation of the finance function, with increasing scope to contribute to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and board-level analysis as the role develops.<\/p>\n

Core accounting responsibilities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Prepare the group\u00e2\u0080\u0099s monthly management accounts, including consolidation work across the UK, Taiwan, and US entities.<\/li>\n
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations, foreign currency translation, and elimination entries.<\/li>\n
  • Run the month-end close process and timetable, ensuring accruals, prepayments, fixed asset accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.<\/li>\n
  • Apply technical accounting treatments under FRS 102, including areas such as fixed assets, leases and right-of-use assets, capitalisation policy, and revenue recognition as the business evolves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Finance systems ownership<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Take ownership of the finance systems environment, which currently uses Xero across the entities and is preparing for a NetSuite migration in the near future.<\/li>\n
    • Maintain the accuracy and structure of the chart of accounts, tracking categories, and reporting hierarchies across the group.<\/li>\n
    • Play an active role in the NetSuite implementation, including data migration, configuration decisions, and reporting design.<\/li>\n
    • Identify opportunities to automate finance processes and reduce manual effort across the finance stack.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Management reporting and FP&A exposure<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Build and maintain the budget-versus-actuals process, including variance analysis and commentary for budget holders.<\/li>\n
      • Support rolling cash flow forecasting and rephasing, which is especially important in a pre-revenue scaling environment.<\/li>\n
      • Prepare spend reports and dashboards for stakeholders in engineering, operations, and the executive team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Day-to-day finance operations<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Contribute to the running of the finance function, including oversight of accounts payable, payment runs, and supplier queries.<\/li>\n
        • Assist with R&D tax credit claims and other UK statutory compliance work.<\/li>\n
        • Document finance processes and help improve them continuously as the function is built out.<\/li>\n
        • Work closely with the Financial Controller, the wider finance team, and colleagues across engineering, operations, procurement, and people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Who they are looking for<\/h3>\n

          The ideal candidate will be newly or recently qualified ACA, with training from a Big 4 or top-10 practice preferred. ACCA or CIMA may also be suitable where the technical and audit background is equivalent. You should have a strong technical accounting foundation, be confident applying FRS 102 or IFRS in practice, and have experience producing or auditing monthly management accounts in a group setting.<\/p>\n

          Strong Excel ability is essential, including the ability to build models, reconciliations, and analysis from scratch. You should also have hands-on experience with at least one ERP or accounting system such as Xero, NetSuite, SAP, or a similar platform.<\/p>\n

          The company is looking for someone with a high sense of ownership who is happy to get involved wherever needed. You should be ambitious, keen to grow with the business, and able to explain finance clearly to colleagues who do not work in finance.<\/p>\n

          Additional experience that would be useful<\/h3>\n

          • Audit or industry experience in product, hardware, semiconductor, deep-tech, or manufacturing businesses.<\/li>\n
          • Experience with group consolidations across multiple entities and currencies.<\/li>\n
          • Exposure to ERP implementation or migration projects, particularly NetSuite.<\/li>\n
          • Familiarity with R&D tax credit claims or other UK innovation incentives.<\/li>\n
          • Experience in a venture-backed or pre-revenue scaling business.<\/li>\n
          • Exposure to FP&A or commercial finance workstreams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
