This is a senior semiconductor architecture role on a brand-new, cutting-edge project within an exciting scale-up environment. The position is based full-time in Scotland and offers a salary of around \u00c2\u00a3100,000, along with a very strong additional package.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Take ownership of the high-level architecture for new chip designs and help shape the architecture of existing products.<\/li>\n
  • Define the overall process and design flow used across the chip development program.<\/li>\n
  • Guide RTL design activity for new chips, providing architectural direction and technical oversight.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of chip delivery, from early concept and architecture through implementation and tape-out.<\/li>\n
  • Work across SOC design, integration, system design, and system architecture for complex semiconductor solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Support development in areas such as power management, PMIC, ultra-low-power design, and performance optimisation.<\/li>\n
  • Bring architectural expertise to advanced RF-related SOC and system-level work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Experience and background needed<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • A degree, master\u00e2\u0080\u0099s degree, or PhD in electronics, microelectronics, physics, or a similar subject area.<\/li>\n
    • Roughly 10 to 20 years of experience in full-chip design and delivery, ideally gained as a chip lead or SOC architect.<\/li>\n
    • Strong knowledge of digital and analog\/mixed-signal design.<\/li>\n
    • Practical experience with ASIC and FPGA development, including Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with ADC and DAC interfaces and the interaction between digital and analog domains.<\/li>\n
    • Detailed understanding of complex tape-out processes and how they interface with fabrication plants.<\/li>\n
    • Broad experience across the full digital design flow, including RTL to GDS.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in SOC design, integration, system design, and system architecture.<\/li>\n
    • Relevant chip experience in areas such as power management, PMIC, ultra-low-power design, or performance optimisation.<\/li>\n
    • Full UK working rights are required, and the role is restricted to candidates who already have them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Nice-to-have experience<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Work on complex cores, processors, or CPUs.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with network-on-chip interconnects.<\/li>\n
      • PLL and filter design experience.<\/li>\n
      • RF-SOC or RF system architecture experience.<\/li>\n
      • DSP and signal processing background.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with flash memory, DDR, HBM, or other high-bandwidth memory technologies.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of cache coherency.<\/li>\n
      • Understanding of clocking and timing constraints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
