This is an opportunity for a Data Scientist to join a market-leading business in the insurance sector and play a meaningful role in shaping how the organisation uses data. The position is based at the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s London site and sits within a broader team that works across several business functions, giving the role a multidisciplinary character. What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Apply industry best practice and research-backed methods to design new ways of helping the business achieve its goals.<\/li>\n
  • Take ownership of the data solution from start to finish, using modern machine learning and statistical modelling techniques to uncover insights and solve challenging business problems.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with the wider technical community, including data scientists and engineers, to support the development and expansion of the organisation\u00e2\u0080\u0099s analytics capability.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to building a stronger data-driven culture across the business so that decisions are informed by robust analysis and evidence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the role requires<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Experience creating predictive and prescriptive models that translate data into useful business insight.<\/li>\n
    • Confidence using analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.<\/li>\n
    • Practical experience with large language models and prompt engineering, with Google Cloud Platform knowledge viewed as an advantage.<\/li>\n
    • Genuine enthusiasm for a broad range of machine learning techniques, from simpler approaches such as linear models and random forests through to deep learning.<\/li>\n
    • Particular interest in either computer vision or natural language processing.<\/li>\n
    • A strong statistical foundation.<\/li>\n
    • The ability to work independently when needed, while also contributing effectively within small project teams.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical findings clearly to others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
