This opportunity is with a pioneering AI and semiconductor business that is developing advanced multi-core in-memory compute SoCs. The position is aimed at an experienced physical design specialist who can take ownership of complex ASIC implementation work and help deliver high-performance chips in a fast-growing, innovation-led setting. The role is based in the UK and is remote.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Take responsibility for full-chip physical design activities from start to finish, including synthesis, floorplanning, placement, routing, extraction, and verification.<\/li>\n
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve timing closure, implement effective clock-tree synthesis, and manage signal integrity concerns.<\/li>\n
  • Bring together multiple IP elements such as memories, I\/O structures, embedded cores, and interconnects into a coherent top-level design.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with colleagues across design and related disciplines to investigate and resolve technical issues in the design or the supporting toolchain.<\/li>\n
  • Create and refine automation and implementation flows using scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, and Bash.<\/li>\n
  • Act as a technical resource for junior team members by offering guidance, support, and mentorship.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute directly to the development of advanced AI and compute solutions that are intended for next-generation semiconductor products.<\/li>\n
  • Work within a globally distributed engineering environment where collaboration across functions is essential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Substantial ASIC physical design experience, with confidence working across the full flow from RTL to GDSII.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on familiarity with standard EDA platforms and tools such as Innovus, Genus, Design Compiler, ICC2, PrimeTime, StarRC, RedHawk, or equivalent solutions.<\/li>\n
    • Strong knowledge of clocking approaches, clock-tree synthesis, and integration at the top level of a chip.<\/li>\n
    • Proven ability to script and improve design or signoff flows.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent problem-solving, investigation, and debugging skills.<\/li>\n
    • Clear written and spoken English communication skills.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with chip-package-board co-simulation would be beneficial.<\/li>\n
    • Exposure to advanced packaging techniques would be beneficial.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with EDA suppliers to address tool or methodology challenges would be beneficial.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of semiconductor device physics or multi-domain design issues would be an additional advantage.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to operate at a senior level and provide technical leadership within the team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
