This is an opportunity for an experienced senior embedded software engineer to join a small, approachable company in Bristol and contribute to a wide variety of technically demanding projects. The work spans computer vision, augmented and virtual reality, and IoT, with involvement across the software stack from bare-metal development and low-level Linux drivers through to user-space applications and web applications. The role is described as highly challenging and suited to someone who wants to be closely involved in the work and make a meaningful impact.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Work on multiple embedded software projects covering computer vision, AR\/VR, and IoT.<\/li>\n
  • Develop software across the full stack, including bare-metal code, low-level Linux driver work, user-space software, and web applications.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to driver development and hardware\/software integration tasks.<\/li>\n
  • Take part in building and supporting video- and audio-related software functionality.<\/li>\n
  • Use scripting and development tools as part of day-to-day engineering work.<\/li>\n
  • Play an active role in a small team where your input will have a direct effect on the outcome of projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the employer is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • At least four years of embedded software experience.<\/li>\n
    • A senior embedded software engineer profile with ambition and the ability to take on complex technical challenges.<\/li>\n
    • Strong practical experience with embedded C and\/or C++.<\/li>\n
    • Comfort using Git in a development workflow.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Linux development, either in user space or at kernel level.<\/li>\n
    • Driver development experience, with examples including DMA, MIPI, and I2C.<\/li>\n
    • Background in video and audio application development.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work with Python, shell scripting, or other similar scripting languages.<\/li>\n
    • The flexibility to work across different layers of the software stack and across varied project types.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
