The company is seeking production engineers with electrical, optical, or mechanical backgrounds to join its experienced engineering team and contribute to the delivery of advanced laser communications technology. The role supports serial production, assembly, integration, and testing of the TERRA-M Optical Ground Station product line and related subsystems.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Carry out assembly, integration, and testing work on subsystems, and support system-level integration and testing for optical ground stations, with work spanning electrical, mechanical, and optical disciplines.<\/li>\n
  • Manufacture and assemble mechanical parts, make use of 3D printing where needed, and test and accept externally sourced components while maintaining accurate inventory control.<\/li>\n
  • Take ownership of build quality and detailed process documentation, and work with the engineering team to improve manufacturing methods, remove inefficiencies, reduce downtime, and increase output.<\/li>\n
  • Support procurement and supply chain activity by placing orders and managing outsourced components.<\/li>\n
  • Assist with deployment and installation of new systems, and provide field maintenance support, including travel abroad when required.<\/li>\n
  • Check incoming parts and materials to make sure they meet defined quality standards and customer expectations.<\/li>\n
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures, ensuring that all work follows relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements.<\/li>\n
  • Manage engineering change activity, including engineering change requests and engineering change orders where applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the company is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • At least five years of commercial experience in production or manufacturing.<\/li>\n
    • Proven, directly relevant experience in assembling, integrating, and testing systems or subsystems in at least one relevant area: mechanical, electrical, or optical.<\/li>\n
    • A proactive, detail-focused approach and the ability to work independently in a hands-on laboratory setting.<\/li>\n
    • Strong troubleshooting skills.<\/li>\n
    • Willingness to travel internationally as part of the role.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and RapidHarness would be an advantage.<\/li>\n
    • Experience using ERP or MRP systems would be beneficial.<\/li>\n
    • Basic PCB layout experience would be useful.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of satellite communications and ground segment infrastructure would be an advantage.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with environmental or field-deployed systems that operate in harsh outdoor conditions would be helpful.<\/li>\n
    • Experience supporting the move from prototype development into serial production would be valuable.<\/li>\n
    • Previous experience in a start-up or rapidly expanding technology company would be a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The office is located in Osney Mead, Oxford. This is an on-site position, and business travel may be required as needed.<\/p>\n
