This role suits a motivated technician who enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in carrying out maintenance safely and to a high standard. The work is centered on planned preventative maintenance, reducing risk before problems arise, and improving the availability and quality of equipment used by internal customers.<\/p>\n

The position is based within Amazon UK Services Ltd. and sits in the Facilities, Maintenance, and Real Estate area. It is a hands-on engineering role in a fast-moving operational environment, with support from team members and leaders. The role also involves working across multiple sites, so flexibility and adaptability are important.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Make health and safety the first priority in every task and ensure all work follows the relevant safety standards and regulations.<\/li>\n
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment used at the site.<\/li>\n
  • Respond quickly to equipment failures, communicate clearly with the people affected, and work efficiently to restore service.<\/li>\n
  • Help drive continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sharing ideas and feedback with your line manager.<\/li>\n
  • Support the goal of keeping equipment highly available and reliable for internal customers.<\/li>\n
  • Learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians and contribute to the wider engineering team.<\/li>\n
  • Manage contractors when required.<\/li>\n
  • Work across several sites as part of the clustering arrangement.<\/li>\n
  • Take part in an on-call rota for emergency support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Working pattern<\/h3>\n

    This role uses a non-standard shift pattern, which may include nights and weekends. It also requires working across multiple sites and being available on call for emergency cover.<\/p>\n

    What Amazon is looking for<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • A Level 3 qualification such as NVQ, SVQ, IVQ, City & Guilds, or EAL in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics, or an equivalent qualification.<\/li>\n
    • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer.<\/li>\n
    • Practical experience in mechanical and\/or electrical maintenance.<\/li>\n
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the local language.<\/li>\n
    • A team-oriented approach and the motivation to work in a collaborative environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred experience<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • An associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical studies is considered an advantage.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with material handling equipment safety standards, particularly in line with original equipment manufacturer guidance and safety requirements, is desirable.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance is also preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
