Graphcore is looking for an Electronics Laboratory Lead to take ownership of its Bristol electronics laboratories and keep them operating safely, reliably and at the level needed to support advanced AI compute development. This is a practical leadership role with significant responsibility for how the labs function, how they scale and how effectively they enable engineering and operations teams to move quickly.<\/p>\n

In this position, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining controlled laboratory environments that support critical work across hardware bring-up, validation, characterisation, manufacturing technology and product testing. You will ensure that the facilities, equipment and infrastructure are ready for use, and that the labs remain dependable spaces where engineers can work efficiently without avoidable delays.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Take ownership of the safe and reliable operation of the Bristol electronics laboratories.<\/li>\n
  • Keep the lab facilities, equipment and supporting infrastructure aligned with the needs of engineering and operations teams.<\/li>\n
  • Support a broad range of technical activity, including hardware bring-up, validation, characterisation, manufacturing technology and product test.<\/li>\n
  • Manage test equipment, laboratory infrastructure, electrostatic discharge controls, goods handling in and out of the labs, maintenance planning and technical readiness.<\/li>\n
  • Build and lead a technician team that can support multiple lab users and different engineering disciplines.<\/li>\n
  • Establish standards for laboratory operation and improve processes so the labs can grow with the business.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with Facilities, Supply Chain, Quality, Product Test and Diagnosis, Infrastructure Solutions and Hardware Engineering.<\/li>\n
  • Use practical decision-making and clear priorities to keep lab activity moving while maintaining safety and technical readiness.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate maintenance, calibration, upgrades and specialist technical services through subcontractors or external providers when required.<\/li>\n
  • Bring structure to complex laboratory activity so engineering teams can focus on delivering their work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    You will be part of the DC Engineering Team and will collaborate directly with the teams that rely on the laboratories.
