The role combines utility engagement, market analysis, procurement strategy, renewable energy planning, and lifecycle optimization for data center power needs.<\/p>\n<h3>What you will do<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Own the end-to-end energy and power strategy for data center assets across EMEA, balancing reliability, cost control, and sustainability.<\/li>\n<li>Lead due diligence on utilities, grid infrastructure, and external power options for site selection, acquisitions, and expansion projects, including assessment of available capacity, connection practicality, transmission bottlenecks, and local regulatory requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate long-term energy supply risk and help determine whether a site can be supported over time as demand grows.<\/li>\n<li>Manage energy planning across the full data center lifecycle, from reserving capacity and securing interconnection through permitting, energization, commissioning, and stable operations.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate load growth planning so that expansion plans remain compatible with utility constraints and grid realities.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and execute electricity procurement strategies, including structured sourcing methods and long-term power purchase agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate with utilities, independent power producers, and renewable energy suppliers across EMEA to secure suitable power arrangements.<\/li>\n<li>Create renewable energy sourcing strategies that support corporate carbon-neutrality and ESG commitments.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and structure opportunities involving renewable and low-carbon power sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and nuclear-backed grids.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor energy markets, pricing movements, and policy or regulatory developments across EMEA, and assess how they affect grid access, renewable obligations, and carbon costs.<\/li>\n<li>Improve energy efficiency and reduce total lifecycle cost by analyzing tariff structures, identifying demand-response opportunities, and supporting financial models for energy-related capital and operating spend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What we are looking for<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>At least five years of experience in utilities, infrastructure, energy, or hyperscale data center development, with strong exposure to power and utility systems.<\/li>\n<li>At least three years of direct experience handling utility agreements, energy procurement, or large-scale power infrastructure projects.<\/li>\n<li>Practical experience in EMEA energy markets, including grid capacity limitations, interconnection processes, and the differences between regulated and deregulated electricity markets.<\/li>\n<li>Background in data center power strategy, including power shell development, greenfield and brownfield site work, and utility-scale load interconnection.<\/li>\n<li>Solid knowledge of the commercial and technical elements of energy procurement, including PPAs, tariffs, and hedging structures.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of renewable energy integration and grid decarbonization pathways in Europe.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel throughout EMEA when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred experience in important EMEA power markets such as the Nordics, including Norway and Finland, or Iberia, including Spain.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred understanding of EU regulatory frameworks that influence energy procurement and access to the grid.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred experience managing relationships with utilities, regulators, developers, and internal stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to translate energy strategy into financial outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Team and company context<\/h3>\n<p>The role is based in London and is part of a broader global operations and technology environment focused on supporting the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s infrastructure needs.
