This role sits within Google Cloud Consulting and is focused on embedding directly with customers to help turn advanced AI ideas into production systems. Rather than operating as a purely advisory consultant, the engineer is expected to work hands-on as a builder: coding, debugging, integrating, and jointly delivering bespoke agentic solutions inside the customer environment. The position is aimed at highly self-directed engineers who are comfortable taking ownership, navigating ambiguity, and driving outcomes in complex enterprise settings.<\/p>\n

The work centers on helping customers move beyond prototypes and into dependable, scalable AI deployments. That includes solving practical barriers such as integration complexity, incomplete or messy data readiness, and the state-management challenges that often prevent AI systems from becoming enterprise-ready. The role also serves a broader strategic purpose by feeding real-world implementation insights back into Google Cloud so they can inform future product direction.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Build and deliver sophisticated AI applications, taking them from early prototypes through to production-grade agentic workflows that can include multi-agent systems and MCP servers, with a clear focus on measurable business impact and return on investment.<\/li>\n
  • Develop the technical connections between Google\u00e2\u0080\u0099s AI products and the customer\u00e2\u0080\u0099s live systems, including APIs, older data repositories, and security controls, while collaborating closely with other specialists.<\/li>\n
  • Create robust evaluation, testing, and observability tooling so agentic systems can be measured for accuracy, safety, and latency before and after deployment.<\/li>\n
  • Work through customer implementation blockers such as system integration issues, data readiness gaps, and state-management problems that can slow down enterprise AI adoption.<\/li>\n
  • Identify recurring patterns and pain points seen across customer engagements, then convert those lessons into reusable internal modules or formal requests for product enhancements to Google engineering teams.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with pre-sales and product colleagues to establish strong development practices and delivery standards that support long-term success and encourage adoption by end users.<\/li>\n
  • Act as a bridge between frontier AI capabilities and production reality, helping customers deploy complex solutions while also contributing field insights back into Google Cloud\u00e2\u0080\u0099s roadmap.<\/li>\n
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with customers and local stakeholders, using those conversations to shape solution design and delivery plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the role requires<\/h3>\n

    • A bachelor\u00e2\u0080\u0099s degree in engineering, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.<\/li>\n
    • At least eight years of software development experience, specifically using Python or a similar programming language.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience building data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data, using vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation-style architectures to support enterprise AI solutions.<\/li>\n
    • Experience bringing AI systems from concept to launch in production environments, including designing and architecting solutions on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform.<\/li>\n
    • Experience running technical discovery discussions with customers and translating those conversations into implementation plans.<\/li>\n
    • Fluency in French or German, because the role is customer-facing and requires communication with local stakeholders in one of those languages.<\/li>\n
    • The ability to operate at an advanced level, with ownership of outcomes, comfort with ambiguous problems, and the ability to influence stakeholders through deep technical expertise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred background<\/h3>\n

      • A master\u00e2\u0080\u0099s degree or PhD in AI, computer science, or another closely related technical discipline.<\/li>\n
      • Experience implementing multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or ADK.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with advanced orchestration approaches such as ReAct, self-reflection, and hierarchical delegation.<\/li>\n
      • Experience in post-sales delivery or technical consulting environments.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of LLM-native operational metrics such as tokens per second and cost per request, along with methods for improving state management and detailed tracing.<\/li>\n
      • Willingness and ability to travel to regional stakeholders when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
