This role is for a senior-level consultant working on Liferay, Java, Spring, and REST API technologies in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Develop robust applications and deliver them through a controlled pipeline, with attention to security, reliability, and performance for Liferay DXP\/Portal and REST API solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Serve as a technical expert for application development and help others follow sound engineering practices.<\/li>\n
  • Administer Liferay portals, including setting up organizations, sites, user groups, and roles, and tailoring portal experiences for different users and organizations.<\/li>\n
  • Support large-scale portal operations such as configuring hundreds of organizations and sites, importing users into multiple sites, and handling staff movement between organizations.<\/li>\n
  • Work with API gateways to connect backend services and data sources to the Liferay portal.<\/li>\n
  • Use routing and load-balancing knowledge to understand and contribute to the overall technical design.<\/li>\n
  • Configure Elasticsearch, manage indexing, and implement schedulers as needed.<\/li>\n
  • Deliver content management capabilities for both logged-in and public users, including web content management and audience targeting.<\/li>\n
  • Communicate with clients, clarify business needs, and coordinate work between onshore and offshore teams.<\/li>\n
  • Carry out analysis, design, development, and unit testing responsibilities.<\/li>\n
  • Convert design requirements and technical specifications into working solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Help ensure the project meets high quality standards and follows industry best practices.<\/li>\n
  • Work independently on assigned tasks or with minimal oversight, especially in an agile environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Experience and skills needed<\/h3>\n

    • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing with Liferay DXP 7.3 or later.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with Kaleo Workflow.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 5 years of strong Java development experience.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 5 years of experience creating RESTful web services.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 5 years of experience using JDBC and basic Hibernate.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with Spring concepts and annotations.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and jQuery.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Oracle Database, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and cursors.<\/li>\n
    • Experience integrating with Entra, Azure AD, LDAP, and SAML.<\/li>\n
    • Preferred background of 8+ years in information technology.<\/li>\n
    • Preferred 5+ years of practical software engineering experience in an agile-driven SDLC.<\/li>\n
    • Bachelor\u00e2\u0080\u0099s or master\u00e2\u0080\u0099s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work in a self-directed way, stay focused on outcomes, and deliver results despite ambiguity and multiple priorities.<\/li>\n
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and business discussions.<\/li>\n
