An innovative technology business is seeking a senior-level mechanical design engineer to help create next-generation hardware products that blend precise mechanical engineering with advanced electronics. The company is expanding and needs someone who can take a leading role in product development from the earliest concept stages all the way through to full production. What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Take the lead on mechanical design and development for new hardware products, using SolidWorks as the primary design platform.<\/li>\n
  • Build accurate 3D CAD models, complete assemblies, and production-ready manufacturing drawings.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with colleagues in electronics, firmware, and software to ensure the final product is fully integrated across all disciplines.<\/li>\n
  • Design with production in mind, balancing manufacturability, reliability, performance, and cost from the start of the process.<\/li>\n
  • Drive prototype construction, testing, and mechanical validation, then use findings to improve and refine the design.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with suppliers and manufacturing organisations to ensure a smooth transition from development into production.<\/li>\n
  • Support readiness for manufacture, including procurement-related tasks and the scaling of production.<\/li>\n
  • Continuously identify design enhancements that improve product quality, functionality, and ease of manufacture.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute throughout the full product lifecycle, from initial concept development to large-scale manufacturing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the employer is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics, or a similar discipline.<\/li>\n
    • At least five years of experience in mechanical product design and development.<\/li>\n
    • Advanced SolidWorks skills, including the ability to produce high-quality documentation suitable for manufacture.<\/li>\n
    • Direct experience taking products from concept through to production.<\/li>\n
    • A strong grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals and experience integrating electronic components into mechanical assemblies.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and production settings.<\/li>\n
    • The ability to perform well in a fast-paced, team-oriented engineering environment.<\/li>\n
    • Helpful additional experience would include work on industrial, consumer, or other electromechanical products.<\/li>\n
    • It would also be advantageous to have knowledge of PCB layout considerations and how they influence mechanical design.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with rapid prototyping and low-volume production would be a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
