An established medical and optical instrumentation business is looking for a Sustainability Engineer to support the continued development, upkeep, and long-term viability of complex electronic products. The role is centered on extending the life of existing hardware platforms, improving them where needed, and working across the product lifecycle in a regulated, product-led environment.<\/p>\n

This position is based in Berkshire, England and is described as being within a friendly team. It offers a practical, hands-on engineering remit with responsibility for keeping products supportable from production through to end of life.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Support existing electronic products throughout their lifecycle, including the period from manufacture all the way to end of life.<\/li>\n
  • Diagnose and fix hardware problems that arise during manufacturing, through supplier issues, or from products already in the field.<\/li>\n
  • Manage the impact of component obsolescence by finding alternative parts, arranging second sourcing, and updating designs where required.<\/li>\n
  • Make engineering changes to existing products, including updates to schematics, PCB revisions, and bill of materials changes.<\/li>\n
  • Assist with compliance activities, verification work, and the maintenance of technical documentation for regulated products.<\/li>\n
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal colleagues to keep products available and functioning as intended.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and design teams to support ongoing product development and lifecycle continuity.<\/li>\n
  • Take ownership of technical issues affecting established hardware platforms and contribute practical solutions that preserve product performance and availability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
