Capgemini Invent is looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join its team and help clients respond to the growing challenges created by climate change. The role sits within a consulting environment that combines strategy, creativity, science, and technology to help organisations build more resilient and sustainable ways of operating. The focus is on helping clients understand climate-related risks, strengthen resilience, and turn sustainability into practical business value.<\/p>\n

What the role involves<\/h3>\n

  • Work directly with clients to assess how climate change may affect their technology estate, digital services, operations, supply chains, and other critical business functions.<\/li>\n
  • Lead client engagements alongside colleagues from Capgemini Invent and the wider Capgemini business, helping to translate sustainability strategies and frameworks into real-world delivery.<\/li>\n
  • Identify wider opportunities for clients to create value through sustainability, beyond risk management alone.<\/li>\n
  • Help organisations understand their exposure to climate-related risks and improve business continuity and operational resilience.<\/li>\n
  • Support the embedding of climate resilience into transformation programmes so that resilience is built into change initiatives from the outset.<\/li>\n
  • Deliver outcomes that are measurable across business performance, sustainability objectives, and resilience, using a resilience-by-design approach.<\/li>\n
  • Act as a visible contributor to the internal sustainability community by sharing new ideas, approaches, and relevant innovations or start-up solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Promote the value of sustainability across Capgemini, including with client-facing teams and internal leaders.<\/li>\n
  • Help educate account teams, leaders, and other colleagues on climate resilience and adaptation, and on the value these capabilities can bring to clients.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to business development through proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, pitch support, and client events.<\/li>\n
  • Take part in internal contribution activities such as campaign development, think-tanks, white papers, practice development, recruitment, team events, and development of new offerings.<\/li>\n
  • Participate in learning and development activity, including training and certifications that support your career progression and the skills the business needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the team is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • An educational background is likely to be in climate science or another relevant discipline.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in sustainability, climate risk, resilience, ESG, enterprise risk, or operational resilience consulting.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of climate adaptation and physical climate risks.<\/li>\n
    • Awareness of how climate risk and resilience issues apply across sectors such as energy, financial services, and the public sector.<\/li>\n
    • Experience delivering complex consulting work and managing stakeholders effectively.<\/li>\n
    • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.<\/li>\n
    • Confidence in running projects and a good understanding of the commercial realities of client delivery.<\/li>\n
    • A real interest in sustainability and the ability to explain its importance clearly to clients and colleagues.<\/li>\n
    • Helpful additional experience may include climate risk modelling, resilience planning, or adaptation programmes.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in business continuity, operational resilience, cybersecurity, or disaster recovery would be an advantage.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with climate-related reporting and disclosure frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB, CSRD, TNFD, and ISO 14091 is desirable.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in sectors such as government, financial services, utilities, telecommunications, healthcare, or critical infrastructure would be useful.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of Sustainable IT, GreenOps, FinOps, or Sustainable AI principles would also be beneficial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
