JetBrains is looking for an experienced compliance professional to help lead its worldwide export controls and sanctions program. The role sits within the Compliance function and is intended to support the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s continued international growth by making sure sales and operations can move forward securely while reducing exposure to regulatory, enforcement, and reputational risk.<\/p>\n

The position is available in several European locations, including Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Madrid, Munich, Prague, and Warsaw. What the role involves<\/h3>\n

  • Sharing responsibility for the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s global export controls and sanctions compliance program.<\/li>\n
  • Keeping up with and interpreting developments in EU and U.S. export controls, sanctions rules, and enforcement activity.<\/li>\n
  • Managing product, technology, and service classification work, along with licensing and technology transfer processes.<\/li>\n
  • Advising the business on sensitive or high-risk matters such as major transactions, strategic commercial arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, market expansion, and the onboarding of technology partners.<\/li>\n
  • Creating, improving, and documenting compliance procedures, operational workflows, and automation tools that support trade compliance.<\/li>\n
  • Acting as the escalation contact for issues involving restricted countries, restricted entities, and other elevated-risk cases.<\/li>\n
  • Working in partnership with Legal, Sales, Product, Procurement, Finance, and Security on cross-border compliance questions.<\/li>\n
  • Supporting and helping drive investigations and concern reviews connected to sanctions and export control issues.<\/li>\n
  • Helping the company enable secure global sales while keeping compliance risks under control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What JetBrains is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • More than 8 years of hands-on experience in EU and U.S. trade compliance, ideally gained in a technology company or global software environment.<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of EU export control requirements, the U.S. Export Administration Regulations, including de minimis and foreign direct product rule concepts, AI-related controls, and sanctions regimes.<\/li>\n
    • The ability to evaluate software and AI features from an export classification standpoint.<\/li>\n
    • Sound, pragmatic judgment with a clear business orientation.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex compliance issues clearly.<\/li>\n
    • Fluency in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
