What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Design, expand, and support a broad set of observability backends so they remain reliable and scalable.<\/li>\n
  • Work on OpenTelemetry components, including collectors and SDKs, and help extend them where needed.<\/li>\n
  • Create telemetry pipelines that can move large volumes of data in a predictable and composable way.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to Golden Path SDKs and auto-instrumentation to make observability easier to adopt across engineering teams.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure Kubernetes workloads have strong observability and remain resilient in production.<\/li>\n
  • Help define and roll out observability standards across platform and application teams.<\/li>\n
  • Strengthen incident response by improving telemetry coverage and the quality of data available during investigations.<\/li>\n
  • Bring external observability expertise into the team and help inform the future roadmap for the platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the team is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • Proven experience operating or onboarding observability SaaS platforms at scale, such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar tools.<\/li>\n
    • Strong hands-on knowledge of OpenTelemetry.<\/li>\n
    • Comfort working with public cloud infrastructure, with AWS preferred.<\/li>\n
    • Good practical experience with Kubernetes and DevOps tooling such as Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, and Jenkins.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with metrics, logs, and tracing backends.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to write scripts in Go, Python, or a comparable language.<\/li>\n
    • A professional background in observability engineering or site reliability engineering.<\/li>\n
    • Additional experience that would be useful, though not essential, includes profiling technologies such as eBPF, Pixie, or Parca, synthetic monitoring, AI-oriented observability tools, and Kafka.<\/li>\n
    • The role is aimed at someone who understands the operational and architectural issues involved in moving telemetry data at very large scale.<\/li>\n
