This is a senior, hands-on security position in a fast-moving financial information and software business that serves sophisticated market participants. The company combines modern cloud infrastructure and agentic AI with deep expertise in capital markets to deliver products used for alpha generation, risk management, and decision-making. Based in London\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Canary Wharf and growing internationally, the team values speed, ownership, rigour, and integrity.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full security function, with scope spanning cloud security, endpoint protection, detection and response, compliance, internal IT, and the security of the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s expanding use of AI agents. This is intended for someone who wants broad ownership and the chance to lead security in a growing FinTech environment, rather than working on a small slice of a large team. The role is senior in nature and is suited to someone with substantial security experience; it may also suit an experienced security engineer who is ready to move into a lead-style role.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Own and operate the security posture across the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s cloud environments, including AWS and GCP, from individual compute instances through to a large EKS-based microservices estate.<\/li>\n
  • Run detection and response activities, including alert triage, expanding detection coverage, and ensuring the monitoring stack remains effective and reliable.<\/li>\n
  • Take responsibility for urgent security alerts when they are real and important, including out-of-hours response when needed.<\/li>\n
  • Threat model new products and services before release, and build security controls directly into the CI\/CD process.<\/li>\n
  • Define secure operating practices for external SaaS integrations, including designing approval flows for new OAuth connections and similar access grants.<\/li>\n
  • Secure the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s use of AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and comparable tools, as well as production generative AI systems used internally and by clients.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with business teams to introduce practical mitigations that reduce risk while preserving delivery speed.<\/li>\n
  • Build an automated patching approach that works across the cloud estate.<\/li>\n
  • Own the SOC 2 programme, including the annual Type II audit, planning the yearly web application penetration test, and automating evidence gathering in Drata wherever possible.<\/li>\n
  • Review existing security policies, identify missing controls or policy gaps, and write new policies to address them.<\/li>\n
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including automation to make joiner and leaver processes faster and more reliable.<\/li>\n
  • Help administer and improve the endpoint fleet of around 100 devices using Jamf and Intune, with roughly 90% macOS and 10% Windows.<\/li>\n
  • Respond to internal security and IT access requests courteously and efficiently.<\/li>\n
  • Manage core SaaS access and administration, including Google Workspace and GitLab, while scripting away repetitive manual tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Experience and skills needed<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • At least five years of security experience across multiple domains.<\/li>\n
    • People leadership experience is not mandatory, although it would be beneficial.<\/li>\n
    • Strong practical knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, GuardDuty, Lambda, ECS, and EKS.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on Kubernetes experience, ideally with EKS.<\/li>\n
    • Experience threat modelling web applications and handling real security incidents.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with AI agents, either in personal workflows or in security tooling.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of SOC 2 and comfort working with Git.<\/li>\n
    • Working knowledge of Jamf.<\/li>\n
    • Solid scripting ability in Python or Bash, enough to automate tasks and connect systems through APIs.<\/li>\n
    • Willingness to learn new areas quickly, including parts of security, IT, or GRC that may be unfamiliar.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to switch between different domains quickly while keeping a high level of accuracy and a professional, helpful approach for end users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Desirable experience<\/h3>\n

      • High-level experience with both Jamf and Intune.<\/li>\n
      • Experience securing microservice architectures or EKS clusters specifically.<\/li>\n
      • Experience using AI agents in production security workflows.<\/li>\n
      • Ability to use SQL for detection engineering and incident investigation.<\/li>\n
      • Experience rolling out DAST or SAST in a production environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
