Deliveroo is hiring an Analytics Engineering Manager to join its London-based technology organisation. The organisation includes more than 70 analytics engineers across the UK and India, and the team structure is embedded within product and business domains rather than operating as a detached central function. This means analytics engineers are close to the areas they support and are accountable for the pipelines, models, and metrics that enable decision-making at scale.<\/p>\n

The work spans a wide range of use cases, from self-serve analytics supported by AI-enabled tools and experimentation, through to executive reporting and strategic planning. The discipline is also changing quickly. Deliveroo is moving beyond traditional pipeline building and toward AI-first data products, richer semantic and context layers, and more self-serve capabilities for data users. This role will help lead that shift within a specific domain while also contributing to the standards, culture, and direction of analytics engineering across the wider organisation.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Lead a team of analytics engineers embedded in a business domain, taking responsibility for their performance, development, and overall wellbeing.<\/li>\n
  • Own the analytics engineering roadmap for your area, deciding which initiatives will have the greatest impact, balancing competing requests, and building support for priorities with business and product stakeholders.<\/li>\n
  • Embed a data-products mindset in the way your team works, including clear ownership, service-level expectations, observability, and data contracts as standard practice.<\/li>\n
  • Remain closely involved in the technical work by reviewing SQL and data models, helping shape architecture, and stepping in directly when the team needs support to move forward.<\/li>\n
  • Take part in organisation-wide decisions on tooling, standards, and processes, helping influence how analytics engineering is done at Deliveroo beyond your own team.<\/li>\n
  • Create and maintain a strong, inclusive team culture through regular feedback, support with performance and motivation issues, and well-run team rituals.<\/li>\n

    What you need to succeed<\/h3>\n

    • Experience in analytics engineering, BI engineering, or data engineering, with strong hands-on SQL skills that you continue to use regularly.<\/li>\n
    • Previous people-management experience leading individual contributors, including developing team members, giving direct and sometimes difficult feedback, and handling common management situations on your own.<\/li>\n
    • A track record of owning a technical roadmap for a domain and delivering measurable business value from it.<\/li>\n
    • Good knowledge of the modern analytics engineering stack, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tools, data modelling, and data quality practices.<\/li>\n
    • The ability to engage credibly in technical discussions and help unblock the team through practical guidance and decision-making.<\/li>\n
    • Confidence working with senior business and product stakeholders, including the ability to influence priorities and connect analytics investment to domain goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
