This role sits within Deliveroo\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Technology organisation in London and is focused on strengthening the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s internal security posture across identities, endpoints, networks, and corporate systems. The position is intended for a senior engineer who can operate independently, make architectural decisions, and deliver substantial security improvements end to end. The work spans global collaboration with security teams in the US, Europe, and APAC, with the aim of lowering risk while steadily improving the maturity of security controls. The role is centred on corporate security engineering, with particular emphasis on identity and access management, endpoint protection, network security, logging, detection engineering, and secure enablement of SaaS tools. What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Design, implement, and maintain the core security controls that protect internal networks, workforce identities, endpoints, and corporate systems.<\/li>\n
  • Build and operate protections such as phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication, just-in-time access, strict role-based access control, zero-trust architecture patterns, and device- and identity-bound verification methods.<\/li>\n
  • Help shape modern network isolation and segmentation approaches that reduce risk while still supporting business use.<\/li>\n
  • Take technical ownership of a broad set of corporate security platforms, including deployment, configuration management, and API integrations.<\/li>\n
  • Lead the technical direction for endpoint trust, data loss prevention, intellectual property storage protection, and SaaS security controls.<\/li>\n
  • Create scripts and internal tools that automate security tasks, incident response workflows, and the collection of audit evidence for compliance purposes.<\/li>\n
  • Work with IT and business operations teams to embed security tooling into everyday processes and workflows.<\/li>\n
  • Support the adoption of secure baseline standards, including CIS Benchmarks, across non-security teams.<\/li>\n
  • Mentor less experienced engineers, help raise the quality of engineering practices, and explain technical topics in a way that non-technical colleagues can understand.<\/li>\n
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure security is built into systems and processes from the outset rather than added later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the role requires<\/h3>\n

    • A degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or equivalent practical experience gained in the field.<\/li>\n
    • At least five years working in security engineering, corporate security, detection and response, or a similar area.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on administration experience with identity and access management platforms such as Okta or Google Workspace.<\/li>\n
    • Deep practical knowledge of Google Workspace products.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and\/or GCP.<\/li>\n
    • Practical use of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.<\/li>\n
    • Experience implementing modern authentication and federation technologies, including FIDO2, WebAuthn, SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.<\/li>\n
    • Experience securing macOS, Windows, and Linux endpoints using MDM and EDR\/XDR tooling.<\/li>\n
    • Experience running SIEM and\/or SOAR platforms and improving detection rules or logic.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with vulnerability management and patch governance.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to write automation scripts that are suitable for production use.<\/li>\n
    • Evidence of leading technical initiatives across teams or functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred experience<\/h3>\n

      • Exposure to SASE or zero-trust network access platforms.<\/li>\n
      • Experience deploying applications into Kubernetes and Docker environments.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of data loss prevention and SaaS security governance.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with advanced detection engineering or SOAR playbook development.<\/li>\n
      • Background supporting ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audit activity.<\/li>\n
