Role overview<\/h3>\n

The Marketplace team is responsible for the systems that keep supply and demand in balance. Its work centers on pricing, matching, and the algorithms and models that help ensure chauffeurs have enough work while passengers are not left waiting. The team values simple, maintainable engineering and moves quickly, using test-driven development, domain-driven design, and continuous integration and delivery rather than heavy frameworks. The environment is primarily Go-based, although the company is also in the middle of moving away from a Ruby monolith. The wider stack includes PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, gRPC, and Thrift, with services running on AWS and Kubernetes and infrastructure managed through Terraform.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Build backend services in Go, with an emphasis on code quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.<\/li>\n
  • Design and deliver new microservices that fit into the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s broader service-oriented architecture.<\/li>\n
  • Help modernize the platform by carefully migrating functionality away from older legacy services.<\/li>\n
  • Work side by side with product managers, designers, and data scientists to turn high-level ideas into concrete technical plans and implementations.<\/li>\n
  • Keep core systems fast and dependable even when demand is high, with attention to both latency and reliability.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the marketplace logic that powers pricing and matching decisions across the platform.<\/li>\n
  • Operate in a team culture that prioritizes lean tooling, clean code, and disciplined engineering practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the company is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining scalable backend services; candidates at senior level should bring 5 or more years.<\/li>\n
    • Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to solve problems clearly, regardless of whether Go is your strongest language.<\/li>\n
