This role sits within Capgemini Invent and is aimed at an experienced cloud architecture professional who can combine deep technical capability with consulting strength. The position is focused on cloud strategy and transformation work, where you will act as the technical lead on engagements and help clients shape, justify and deliver cloud change. The work spans architecture design, migration planning, modernisation, AI-enabled platforms, client communication and support for business growth.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n

  • Act as the technical lead on cloud strategy and transformation assignments, bringing together architecture expertise and consulting skills to guide clients through complex change.<\/li>\n
  • Assess existing environments and design future-state architectures, landing zones and migration routes across AWS, Azure and GCP, including multi-cloud and hybrid landscapes.<\/li>\n
  • Develop workload placement and modernisation strategies, choosing between approaches such as rehosting, replatforming and refactoring while balancing cost, risk, performance and sovereignty considerations.<\/li>\n
  • Create architecture foundations that enable AI use cases, including data platforms, generative AI patterns, agentic AI patterns and the infrastructure choices that support them.<\/li>\n
  • Turn technical decisions into clear, business-friendly narratives, lead workshops with clients and present recommendations in a way that helps stakeholders understand, approve and fund them.<\/li>\n
  • Review and validate solutions during delivery, and bring technical credibility to proposals, bids and proposition development.<\/li>\n
  • At Managing Consultant level, set the technical direction across engagements, assure solution quality, coach colleagues and help shape and win new work.<\/li>\n
  • At Senior Consultant level, take ownership of the architecture workstream on an engagement, produce high-quality technical outputs and build trusted client relationships.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to business development through proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition creation, pitch support and hosting clients at events.<\/li>\n
  • Support internal practice development through campaign work, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, operational activities, recruitment, team events and the creation of new offerings.<\/li>\n
  • Take part in learning and development activity, including training and certifications that support your career growth and the organisation\u00e2\u0080\u0099s skills needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What the team is looking for<\/h3>\n

    • You should be an architect at heart, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently like a consultant.<\/li>\n
    • You need hands-on experience with at least one of the major cloud providers: AWS, Azure or GCP.<\/li>\n
    • Professional cloud certifications are highly desirable, such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Google Professional Cloud Architect.<\/li>\n
    • You should have broad knowledge across infrastructure, networking, security and data, with strong depth in cloud migration and application modernisation patterns.<\/li>\n
    • You need the ability to combine technical authority with strong facilitation and presentation skills, including whiteboarding, running workshops and influencing senior audiences.<\/li>\n
    • Experience designing for AI and data workloads is desirable, along with a clear interest in generative AI and agentic AI architecture.<\/li>\n
    • Previous consulting or client-facing experience is important, as is the ability to work successfully in a matrixed organisation.<\/li>\n
    • TOGAF or another recognised architecture framework would be helpful, though it is not mandatory.<\/li>\n
    • You should have experience working with external stakeholders and be able to build trusted relationships.<\/li>\n
    • This is an experienced hire role rather than an entry-level position.<\/li>\n
    • You must be willing to work flexibly across assignment locations, including time away from home at short notice.<\/li>\n
    • The role can be based from London, Manchester or Glasgow, but assignment location may vary depending on client needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
