THE ROLE :<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Bring AMD\u2019s leading-edge SoCs to life in a virtual environment!\u202fAs an early consumer of AMD’s next-generation\u00a0designs, help\u00a0create high-performance C++ functional models that enable pre-silicon development of firmware, system, driver, and application software. Support emulation acceleration, performance, and power modelling.\u202fEnhance our simulation infrastructure and develop innovative,\u202fnew\u202fdebug features.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The SoC Virtual Model Development Engineer will have broad scope and work with multiple teams to gather SoC and IP\u00a0component\u00a0specifications, plan development to meet milestones, build models, and support internal and external stakeholders. You will be a team player on a highly capable and supportive team, working on a project critical to the company\u2019s success.\u202f This is a highly visible and impactful role with excellent growth opportunity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Familiarity with computer\/SoC architecture, as well as a solid understanding of system architecture and system software, is highly desirable.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Develop high-performance FFMs (Fast-Functional models) for AMD SoCs and platforms using C++.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Collaborate closely\u00a0with internal and external customers to understand and assist in\u00a0running their workloads on the models.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Create test plans and\u00a0validate\u00a0model functionality using Python.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Improve functionality, stability, and performance of existing models.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Develop innovative modelling features to streamline workload debugging.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Close collaboration with architecture teams to foster in-depth understanding of\u202fnew\u202fdesigns.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Preferred Experience:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Proven experience in designing and implementing maintainable, performant, professional C++11\/14\/17 code.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with x86, ARM, or GPU architecture, including drivers and applications.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Proficiency\u00a0in Linux and Windows kernel debugging.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Prior involvement in functional modelling, architecture simulation, or hypervisor development.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with modelling technologies such as QEMU, VirtualBox,\u00a0SystemC, Gem5, SIMICS, dynamic binary\u00a0translation,\u00a0or JIT.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Experience of cross-platform development for Linux and Windows environments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Academic Credentials:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        University degree in Engineering or higher or equivalent experience is preferred.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
